Discussion: What are your relationship deal breakers?

What are the qualities that you must have in a relationship? What are the behaviors that you simply can’t stand?

This goes for straight and gay members.

The deal breakers for me in a female would be

No goals
goldiggers
superficial/shallow
Being needy/desperate/stalkerish
Being high maintenance
Looking messy

The qualities I look for are:

Has goals in life
Good looks
good personality
down to earth
Takes care of herself

I've been with my bf for so long hes just turned into my perfect guy.

However if he ever cheats or starts hard drugs I will cut it off. And I ain't talking about my relationship.

More than anything else, I would like the person I'm with to be respectable/ virtuous. If you have no class, a bad attitude, and I can't be seen with you without feeling embarrassed, we have no future.

I like normal people, who care about normal things, make reasonable decisions and can match me in terms of blandness.

Nah, you got that right, but you calling him superficial for not wanting to be with someone is fake or doesn't know how to take care of themselves at all. That doesn't make him superficial.

This is my issue. I just wanted to make sure he allowed some "off days" for the significant other to let herself be messy, because nobody can look perfect every day!

At this point though, I'm just arguing semantics, and I didn't mean it as an insult towards Fireman - it just struck me as odd.

I'm not too picky with appearances but body odor is a no-no. Never be afraid to tell your boyfriend to shower, if he acts disgruntled just offer to join him.

You can't be sweet and lovely to eachother all the time when you live together. A good relationship is one you don't have to try in, where you can just be yourself and relax and they still think the sun rises and sets on you.

Understanding, down-to-earth, organized, and not an attention seeker.

What are the behaviors that you simply can’t stand?
Party girl, whinny, smoker, jealous, and yeah, stalkerish too.

If a girl is being bitchy to others in order to make some sort of territorial stand-off for my attention, I don't want that.

When a girl is afraid to expose her sensitive side to me, I don't want that.

I don't really know, because I always end up with persons who I can't stand, I was in love with my previous boyfriends but I thought/think they were so stupid and annoying
