Since the turn of the millenium british music was supposedly at its lowest, with single and albums sales really low. A lot of pop rubbish was about, the influx in the UK charts from American artists was at its peak, with very few British highlights around. But from out of no where, brilliant artists came about, some already established artists released new albums that topped the charts and the British music was at a buzz again. Now in 2006 we here in the UK are able to boast some of the best talented muscians in the world. The best of all tho, the artists range all aspects of music, from R'n'B to indie to pop, there is such a broad range to choose from.
Artists such as Coldplay, Dido, Gorrilaz, Franz Ferdinand, KT Tunstall, James Blunt, Keane, Joss Stone, Katie Melua, Athlete, The Coral, Editors, Embrace, Estelle, Futureheads, Girls Aloud, Goldfrapp, Oasis, Hard Fi, Jamie Cullum, Jamelia, Jem, Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian, Kristian Leontiou, Lemar, Maximo Park, Natasha Bedingfield, Razorlight, Richard Ashcroft, Robbie Williams, Rooster, Stereophonics, Subways, The Streets, Sugababes and the Zutons have made the past few years enjoyable for UK music.
Anyone else got any favourites to add, i may of missed a few? I'd like to see other peoples views on UK music
One band i hope that will take off in the music scene is Do Me Bad Things. If you can try and get a hold of Time For Deliverence and What's Hideous by them, 2 brilliant songs.
