What about Norah Jones? One huge album and then a big drop with each subsequent release.

ADELE is the definition of a fad. The public is infatuated with her because she's different right now but they'll get bored and move on. ADELE aint no popstar, so she's not gonna change her sound to accommodate what the public wants and it'll be over for her.

Her next album will still sell great although I'm not sure with the next one after that.

Norah Jones's second album was actually the second biggest selling album of 2004 (behind Usher's Confessions), and her decline was similar to Christina's. So, she just didn't have one huge album. She had two huge successful albums with two successful/semi-successful followups. Norah's career isn't struggling either. It wouldn't be horrible if Adele goes the "Norah route." If she gains 19 success again, that would be OK.

She won't have an album as successful as 21, but she will still sell huge numbers effortlessly, at least with her next one or two albums - even if it's purely because of the hype of 21. There will definitely be a lot of fickle people amongst the masses who will just get 'bored' of her and move on to someone else, but she will be around for years to come if she can solidify a fanbase who will always buy her music before the next big thing comes along.

I don't she will be the "HBIC" much like she is with this era but she is set for another 3 years because of 21. Flops or not shes set for some time.

Adele is different from Norah Jones in that she's had two MASSIVE hits from her mega-selling album. Her appeal is much broader. Norah sold a lot of albums but her market was very adult oriented, Adele appeals to everyone.

She's no fad, but she'll find it difficult to replicate success on this scale. This question is so tired already. If 2011 proved anything it's that nobody is untouchable.

This is when she supposedly stopped "smoking" and was going through a vocal issues and before 21 became a mega-success, but her voice is spot on. Her latest performances have been so-so and you can tell her voice has changed, but I think something else is wrong.

Yes I think she will have longetivity, she's an artist who a lot of people connect with and I can see at least doing another three albums.
