You can join ATRL if you don't know a word of english, but that would be pointless because it's a english speaking site and you wouldn't understand anything

You can join ATRL if you only have basic english, but don't get annoyed when people point out your mistakes; this will help you learn, I don't understand why people get so butthurt over it.

The only peoples English I make fun of is those who speak it as a first language and do it worse than someone currently learning. Golden for example types with more finesse than many members here. Making fun of people who do not speak English as a first language is not right but what is anyone going to do about it? The people with a little bit of class won't do it.

I don't see any way around it, even if someone says once that English is not their first language many people will not see that, it's not like they can have a badge next to their name.

True. If you can't even write basic English it would be very stupid to join ATRL.

ATRL is actually very good for your English if it isn't your first language. Okay it doesn't really help you with grammar and stuff but it does help to expand your vocabulary. Nobody should've seen me when I first joined an English forum. When I look back at it, I'm very proud of myself because I've improved so much.

Exactly. Good point! There is really no reason in having this discussion/thread. Why would anyone want to post in a majority-speaking English forum when they can't read or wright it well enough? It would be horrible accessing a forum where you do not understand anything that is being said.

Basically adding to what Patrick said; it would be a bore-fest if everyone typed correctly. I, myself, love to see the gworls, dats, tehs, mahs, and random other ATRL anecdotes that borderline illiteracy.
