Lady Gaga is already on fade mode. BTW was great, and so was TFM, but did it ever top the previous album? They might do extremely well sale-wise, but the singles are getting weaker and weaker. BTW only topped Radio Songs for only 1 week....
Rihanna will likely be on top 2011-2012 with TTT.

If BTW and Lady Gaga are on fade mode, why BTW has sold more than Loud??? Someone answer me please. Single sales don't count, cause it does nothing to an artist except promting the album, which these basic popstars have not done well, considering Gaga has assuredly 'flopped' in every single era and still is the second best selling album of the year.

What a particular analogy, Katy's pet. I case you don't remember, Just Dance, LoveGame, as LFN, and MANY others songs talk about SEXUAL DESIRE and GETTING DRUNK, which American culture seems to identify with conformity. But, there's a fine, well marked difference between singing about racial, and sexual orientation issues. Born This Way is, in a way, an activist single to make you think about the importance of equality and how everyone is equal but 'born this way'. LFN, that's your song to go to party, flirt and then have sex, which in no way is bad, but does nothing for the future of an entire generation more than remind them 'what's cool'.

Yep, and Ur So Gay, I Kissed A Girl, Teenage Dream, and Peacock all have non radio-friendly lyrics in them. The point here is that neither artist releases all radio friendly material or non radio friendly material, each release a mixture of both.
Yep, that's what it is about, and the point wasn't to send a message, hun, it was just a song to have fun and party to, so it isn't fair to compare it to those that are meant to have a message and to be taken seriously.

Gaga used to be Stefanie a talented musician that performed in bars but never got recognition cause she was too normal. Everything changed once she changed her name to Lady Gaga got rid of her "normal" image and started wearing over-the-top outfits and gimmicks, I hear more people talk about her outfits and her "weirdness" than they do about her music.

Now I can have a real conversation, and I knew it wasn't going to occur with a Katy stan.
My dear, that's not called a 'gimmick'. It's called 'deflecting society's projection onto itself'. At that time, what you just called 'normal' was considered the reigning form, and any other who dared to show a different reality was considered not only a freak, but condemned to stay out of the scene. You had these 'absolute reality' in which popstars seemed to be made of gold, perfect, gorgeous, not a single fail in them, till the world itself realized the plastic quality that relied in them. Fake noses, fake boobs, fake voice, fake everything. Lady Gaga had the voice, the talent, but at that time it took more than your typical blonde beauty to call the mainstream attention. And she went outlandish, without letting her artistic spirit go. What's more interesting is how she didn't go for the quirky but cute girl (Katy Perry, Rihanna, etc) but to the unsexy freak. She is not sexy, but she plays with it. That weirdness is not only to pay attention to her, but to question yourself: what is beauty?

How is Lady Gaga fading because she hasn't outsold The Fame? If we're going by that then that means Rihanna faded after GGGB and Britney after BOMT, since they haven't outsold those albums. When an artist becomes number 1 in almost everything they do like Gaga did then it's hard to top themselves. And the reason her singles haven't been doing as well as they did during TF/M era is because they're less radio friendly, plus a lot of people already have the album so they're less likely to buy the singles.

I rebuke that point of view. Ur So Gay is an anti-LGBT rights song, by demeaning the fact of being gay to being ****, and something to be made fun of, something anyone is akin to. I kissed a Girl is your typical American song: boys LOVE girls kissing, and that song isn't even LGBT related: she states she's not on love, she's just, as you said, having some fun. Teenage Dream could not be more commercial, that song was St. Valentine's anthem and it was very well played on radio. And, Peacock... Please don't. The lyrics are the same thing: expressing SEXUAL DESIRE.This is not the 80's hun. Katy releases radio-friendly music, and that's not bad at all, every artist want their music on top 40 radio, but people must watch out their mouth when comparing with other works of art. REAL ART. And the one comparing was not me, was you.

I really don't give a **** about what you think is important tbh, you acted like selling singles is a bigger deal than selling albums when it's not.

This isn't a totally liberal county either, people tend to dislike that type of lyrics. And I'm not going to get in with you about Ur So Gay, it would be worthless. I just did. And we obviously have different opinions, we can leave it at that.

If you don't care so much, why did you reply? Get over it, albums aren't everything. Especially when digital albums and singles are the "thing" nowadays.

I replied to correct you, album sales aren't everything but they are important.
The main point in even releasing a single is to get people interested in buying the album, which Katy Perry has barely done in comparison to her single sales.

And I never said anything incorrect, I stated a fact, albums is the only thing sales wise she beats them at. But you make something out of it, and decide to reply, hence you cared enough to reply. You could take it as the fact it was an move on, but you can't obviously handle the truth.

She beats them in album sales, touring, forbes, critical praise, legend praise, grammys, vmas, twitter, overall youtube views, and arguably fame. Once again, I was only correcting you and I'm down now.

And I said sales didn't I? I didn't say everything overall. VMA's, twitter, fame, critical appraise, and touring is not "sales." As far as music goes, sales is albums, digital albums, singles etc.

Let me screencap it, this is something invaluable. How can you argue, realizing that your facts aren't right? Katy stans are the epitome of stupidity!
