It trumps the other ones though. The others are well made, but they're for *******. The only real scare of the first film was the "bump in the night" paranoia. While paranoia is one of the most terrifying things one can experience, in context of PA1, it was for *******. Of course, I might just be saying that because every damn highlight of the movie was exposed in the trailer. PA3 perfected paranioa with the oscilating camera.
The coven background added the right touch of creepiness without crossing into gimmick territory.
Though many consider the ending ******, I think it serves the purpose of continuing the momentum into the DVD extras release / PA4 release.
PA 4 isn't really possible.... there's no story really left. And aren't these the same girls from the other two. Did they just forget their asses were haunted once before, not to mention do they film every single inch of their lives?
But considering it's huge weekend at the BO, a #4 is highly likely.
