So I don't usually ask for advice, but hey maybe this thread could be a blessing in disguise. Lately my friends have been on the thing with drinking and smoking weed. I never thought that I would become friends with people like that, but it appears as if they have changed their beliefs. Sometimes the weight of all of the conflict is emotionally draining. I don't plan on drinking anytime soon, and I will never smoke weed or do any drug. I know some people need to try it to see what it's about, but I don't want my friends to become this. And they have chilled out with it since the summer, but I fear as if sometimes I am losing them because they want to be more rebellious or what's the word break out more. I just don't like it. I like having friends who aren't completely goody-two show, but I don't want this. So I guess what I am really asking is what should I do? I have confronted my one friend about it and it seemed like he understood, but he just keeps doing these things. My friends seem to try and hide it too so I don't find out. I don't like this situation, but I don't want to lose my friends over something stupid

Well I can only speak for myself but I would honestly say try to accept it...unless it gets to a dangerous level (we don't want any rehab cases on our hands). I've done both smoked and drank BUT I remember in high school I NEVER drank and all my best friends had since 9th grade. I would get bored watching them drink on weekends but at the end of the day, they were old enough to make their own choices. Of course you have their best interest in mind, but the best thing I would say is to maybe ask your friends to respect your decisions not to do either of those things. I mean now I'm one of a few people in my group that smokes weed (i've only done it like twice...to be honest it's not that amazing) but my friends are overall cool about it. I hope this helped
