This is a bigger problem in India, which is even more over populated and is a very sexist society. There are often cases of parents smothering their own daughters to death.

Asia as a whole really needs to be worked on. South Korea and Japan are the only countries not plagued by issues like this, but they still have plenty of problems on their own.
