Britney Spears gets 'Criminal' in new video. Packed with sex, violence and acting, the new Britney Spears video, 'Criminal,' has all the trappings of a midnight movie. It was fitting, then, that she debuted it at 12AM this morning. As has been widely reported, the mini-movie features plenty of gunplay, but it starts out rather tame, with Britney looking foxy at a fancy cocktail party. Unfortunately, her date is a philandering, hot-tempered thug, and after Spears insults a woman he tries picking up, asking why she's not "working the street corner," the dude takes her outside and gives her a slap. That's when Trawick comes to the rescue, giving the Brit's boorish beau a jolly-good whooping. "Are you OK?" he asks, after delivering his beating. "Wait," Spears says, kicking the fallen fellow in the groin. "Now I'm OK." The two take off on a motorcycle, and it seems all is right with the world. But it turns out Brit's new guy is no saint, either. In fact, he's a wanted criminal, and while that might be a problem for ordinary girls, Spears finds herself seduced by the romance of crime. The two knock off a grocery store -- here we see the infamous sequence in which Brit brandishes a pistol -- and head back to his place for a post-robbery shower. But the soapy water isn't enough to wash away the guilt, at least as far as the British police are concerned. They surround the pair's love nest and spray the place with bullets. Miraculously, our heroes make it out alive, teaching us all a valuable lesson: If you're young and tattooed, crime does pay. —AOL Music

"Criminal," the fourth video from Britney Spears' latest album, Femme Fatale, starts off as a tribute to old Hollywood, with the singer dolled up like an icy leading lady in a Hitchcock movie. The first minute of music-free plot features some stiff acting and a surprising bit of violence, but from there on out – sexy dancing, sexy vamping – with the added bonus of gratuitous PDA between the pop star and her real-life boyfriend, Jason Trawick. —Rolling Stone

Britney Spears' "Criminal" video is very, very, very sexy. Like "wowser" sexy. In the Chris Marrs Piliero-directed ("I Wanna Go") video, Video Britney and her Video Boyfriend, played by real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick, share a lot of steamy moments, including one hot sex scene as well as a very naked shower scene. While those moments are ingrained on our memory, it's a less NSFW but still passionate moment that really is the video's Key Scene. And, what is that moment? That first kiss the new couple shares at the apartment is the key scene because it kicks off the sultry onscreen love affair between Britney and Jason, the video's "criminal." The kiss comes right after Jason saved her from her abusive beau and takes her back to his place. This is not your typical fourth single, low budget video. Britney looks as good as ever, feeling a bit empowered by the fact that she has found a new, hotter boyfriend (and kicked her old one in the baby maker), our girl plants a big kiss on him. A big kiss that leads to a convenience store hold up, lots of sex (both in the aforementioned bed and the aforementioned shower) and a shoot out with police. The pair eventually escapes getting clipped by the cops and makes their way to a sexy life of crime together, hopefully full of lots and lots of kisses. —MTV

Britney Spears gets in touch with her inner bad girl in the music video for her new single, Criminal, in which the pop superstar is seen doing everything from robbing a convenient store to hooking up in the shower with her real-life boyfriend, Jason Trawick. The video’s sexy, movie-like tone is fitting for the single, which tells the story of a girl who irrationally falls for a bonafide bad boy. In this case, the bad boy is played by Trawick, who takes part in not one, but two, very hot sex scenes with Britney. —Celebuzz

Britney Spears and Jason Trawick are getting steamy in her new "Criminal" video—and it's seriously steamy y'all. The singer, who filmed the video in London last month with her real-life boyfriend, gets completely naked with her man, takes a sexy shower with him and rolls around in the sheets with him in what look like some very real love scenes. So how hot does it get? In the video, Jason comes to Brit's rescue after her fancy boyfriend yells at her and then slaps her at a party. Jason plays the tough guy, knocking the bad boyfriend out cold before the "Toxic" singer kicks him while he's down. Brit then hops on Jason's bike and the duo take off on a crime spree across London together. Cue lots of guns, lots of hot sex, lots of police chases. By the looks of the video, it's clear the couple have a solid chemistry in the sack and bods that look like they haven't skipped the gym in, well...ever. In September, Britney and her beau were spotted on the set of the video, getting their Bonnie and Clyde on while running from a convenience store with Brit brandishing a fake gun. But local politicos on the Hackney Council where the shoot took place weren't happy with the weapon waving and demanded an apology from the singer after she was so seemingly insensitive for shooting the crime-themed video in the area that was devastated by the London riots this summer. But Brit's camp slammed the attack on her, telling E! News the video is "a fantasy-themed story featuring Britney's boyfriend." With the "fantasy" getting so hot and heavy and Britney stripping down to nothing, the guns are the last thing you notice.—E! Online - UK

The videos from Britney Spears's Femme Fatale album have been an entertaining bunch, and the latest, for "Criminal," may be the most entertaining. Britney gets to flex her acting muscle in the short film-style music video, with an intro that features the singer at a posh London party, fighting with a slappy British boyfriend, until a hot stranger (her real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick) comes to her rescue. They take off to the flute-laden tune of "Criminal," and that appears to be exactly what Britney's new squeeze is. They become a Bonnie and Clyde-esque pair, robbing stores and being chased by police. But they have lots of sexy downtime — their gun-toting shenanigans are interspersed with lots of nude, arty love scenes (in the shower, up against the wall . . . you get the point). Watch now.—Buzz Sugar

Britney Spears, who teased the release of her new music video yesterday has FINALLY released the music video for her new single Criminal … and it is FANTASTIC! The clip is nothing short of a mini-movie, complete with production credits and everything. Previously, we saw photos of Britney and loverman Jason Trawick filming scenes for the video but that particular scene makes up a tiny portion of the whole video. I’m not even kidding, y’all … this video is one of Britney‘s best … of all time. Don’t believe me? Check it out in full below and judge for yourselves. This video is so good not only because of its high production value but because the story told here is actually entertaining and compelling. The opening scene is … surprising … but not as surprising as the way the story turns out. Britney and Jason make a great couple in real life but they also make a pretty great couple on screen as well. —Pink Is The New Blog

Britney Spears has finally premiered a music video for her latest single "Criminal". In it, she dumps her rude boyfriend for a criminal played by her real-life love Jason Trawick. She kicks the douche guy in the balls before leaving with her knight in shining armor. Sparks instantly fly drawing Britney and Jason to a number of steamy love scenes including a hot-and-heavy one in the shower. Not only does she become a passionate partner in bed, but the southern belle also turns into an excellent sidekick in his crime spree.—Ace Showbiz

Sex! Violence! Tattoos! For the video for her fourth Femme Fatale single, Britney Spears delivered an epic mini-movie, full of romance, intrigue, and a whole lot of makeout sessions with her real-life boyfriend, Jason Trawick. Seriously, there are so many things to discuss in the “Criminal” video. Directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, the video trails Britney as she bolts from the confinement of her prim-and-proper aristocratic lifestyle and discovers she’s happier living life on the lam. (And maybe we’re projecting, just a little). Shot in London before the kickoff of Britney’s European tour, “Criminal” finds our heroine armed, dangerous and… thrilled. All in all, this was a pretty entertaining video, with a whole lot of PDA between Brit and her beau. It was full of passion, joy and just a little touch of madness — just like its star. (It’s fitting that Piliero, the director, summed it all up in one word earlier this month: “Britney”).—Idolator

Britney Spears‘ controversial video for her flute-laden new single ‘Criminal’ is more of a sexed up mini-movie than anything else. Brit and her real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick are fashioned as a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde in this five-minute piece of pop music cinema. The vid opens with Brit at a gala, looking a bit unhappy, but pretty in a golden gown with heavy smoky eyes and her hair is swept up into a huge top knot bun that’s flattering. Her suitor barks at her, asking her to “try smiling just once. It’s embarrassing. You look like you are at a funeral.” He roughs her up and she scampers off to the bathroom to wipe away her tears. Anyone notice the product placement? We’ll offer a hint: it’s pink and it holds perfume. Brit returns to her abusive boyfriend, only to find him flirting with another lady. Brit promptly comments on the woman not working a street corner tonight! Damn! It’s Britney, bitch! The BF slaps her and Trawick comes to her rescue, asking if she is okay. Before the twosome bolts on his motorcycle, she delivers a swift kick to her now-ex’s family jewels and declares, “Now I’m okay.” Female empowerment, anyone? Here’s where things get steamy and sexafied. Brit handles a gun, makes out with Trawick and there’s a gratuitous sex scene. It’s not PG-13; it’s more like Rated R. But there is a shot of a sick (and fake) tribal tattoo on Trawick’s back. We get it. He’s a bad boy. The next morning, they head to a convenience store and knock it off. This is the scene that caused all that drama, since Brit filmed the clip in an area of England that was besieged by violence over the summer and locals felt the scene was insensitive. Brit stuck to her, uh, guns, and refused to cut it or alter the video. Brit Brit and her beau make the news as a “duo on a crime spree.” They steal a car, have sex in the shower — it’s okay, since they are a real-life duo — and then engage in another face-sucking sesh as they are surrounded by a hail of bullets. There’s no way they survive that one. Oh, but they do. The authorities reveal that the suspects have left the building and we see a shot of Brit’s back on Trawick’s bike, fleeing the scene. Credits roll. End of story. —PopCrush

A few weeks ago, in the latest installment of "British Citizens Yelling at Pop Stars About Scandalous Video Shoots," Britney Spears found herself in hot water with several U.K. politicians over the filming of her "Criminal" video. Britney was running around a London suburb with guns blazing (literally), and the local officials were none too pleased. After viewing the final product, we're guessing they probably won't be down with the shower sex, the regular sex, the domestic abuse, the armed robbery, or any of Britney's other questionable activities, either. Britney went in! And cutely, she enlisted her real-life manager turned boyfriend, Jason Trawick, as her co-star and partner in crime. They spend half the video naked (but it's not weird, because they love each other? Or maybe that makes it weirder?); the other half is devoted to Britney's arm-dancing and life of crime. The best moment, though, is in the beginning when Britney kicks a dude in the crotch and then proclaims, "Now I'm okay. [Smirk.]" Britney is having fun again! —New York Magazine

It’s crime time for Britney, bitch. In her new video for “Criminal,” her fourth single from Femme Fatale, Spears acts out a romantic heist/robbery/forbidden love with real-life love Jason Trawick– complete with multiple naked sex scenes. The good stuff: Spears looks great — the weave is working for her and the video plotline has a fun story that isn’t just Britney slithering against a wall. I kind of really like it. The pair engage in steamy shower sex that puts Spears’ solo steam-room escapades from “Womanizier“ to shame. The woman who gave us Britney & Kevin: Chaotic certainly isn’t going to be concerned about boundaries. I’m not loving the abuse going on at the beginning of the vid, but it does give us the set up to allow Spears to be her sassy self: “So you’re not working the street corner tonight I see.” LOVE. Other highlights: The explosive finish of Trawick and Spears making out in the middle of a shootout was pretty awesomely good-girl-gone-bad for Spears. And you’ve got to chuckle at the blatant Britney perfume product placement at :40. Spot any other Spears-endorsed products? What do you think? Where do you think “Criminal” ranks among her other vids? Is it her best off Femme Fatale? (This writer says Yes!!!)—Entertainment Weekly

Steamy shower sex, slaps to the face, kicks to the crotch, convenience store stick ups and a crime spree on the streets of London – Britney Spears’ new video for “Criminal” is here! The pop star dropped her latest video late Monday night. Brit’s real-life boyfriend, Jason Trawick, stars as the singer’s hero in the video, saving the pop star from an abusive British man who slaps Britney at a highbrow party. The singer’s modern-day “Bonnie and Clyde” musical adventure is filled with various criminal acts intermixed with sex scenes and shots of the star dancing in a hallway. The video culminates in a massive slow-motion shootout with the police as Brit and Jason lock lips in a blaze of bullets and then escape through the streets of London.—Access Hollywood

We can't honestly remember the last time Britney Spears looked so gorgeous in a music video. Perhaps she was glowing because her real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick played her onscreen bad boy beau? Whatever it was, she needs to keep this momentum going because "Criminal" might just be Britney's best video in the "Femme Fatale" era. Okay, we'll admit that it gets a little too intimate at points. You see, the concept of the video is Britney's sexual fantasy involving her real-life boyfriend Jason. After her preppy, aristocratic date gets abusive, Jason (the "Criminal") storms in out of the darkness and rescues Brit-Brit from harm -- but not before the pop princess has a chance to give him one last good kick in the groin. From there, it's a life of motorcycles, crime and steamy shower sex. Sure, there's not a lot of dancing, but we weren't really expecting any. There are some fierce arm movements though. And seeing Britney tell someone off by saying, "You're not working the street corner tonight, I see," made us believe that maybe, just maybe, the old, playful Britney is back. —Huffington Post

While pop princess Britney Spears has been overseas conquering Europe with her Femme Fatale tour. American Britney fans have been anxiously awaiting her new video for her hit song “Criminal”. The video, was shot in September around London, and is not your typical "Britney" style video. For one, there is no dancing. Two, Britney shows of her great acting chops. Britney Spears has been a lot of things in her music videos: a schoolgirl, an air hostess and even a circus ringmaster, but her latest venture sees her exploring a side of her we've never seen, until now... that of a criminal. Yes, Britney’s new video sees her taking to a life of crime with her real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick. After watching the finished thing, we have to say it’s certainly not for Britney’s younger fans! It’s pretty jam-packed with violence, raunchy scenes and crime! Steamy scenes aside though, the video is actually rather compelling and feels more like a short film rather than a pop starlet’s music video. —MSN Music UK

With overt sexuality reminiscent of her days of yore and some gun violence to boot, Britney Spears' "Criminal" music video is being red flagged all over the Internet. She's already been criticized by various groups for the armed robbery scene, and you can bet that the domestic violence at the beginning will spark more debate. And then there's the shower sex. With her boyfriend, Jason Trawick. All we can say is the PTC is going to have a field day cranking out letters about this one, and YouTube may have to hire more moderators to field the complaints.—The Hollywood Gossip
Who needs a reality series when you can just make a music video? Britney Spears and her boyfriend Jason Trawick have given her fans a steamy look at what goes on in their bedroom in the X-rated music video for her single Criminal. The couple play a modern Bonnie and Clyde-style duo who play out their passions with little inhibition. Spears, 29, had a reality show with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, but has simply combined her personal professional lives this time round by casting her man in her music video. And now Jason is taking centre stage in her music videos. He plays a bad boy who Britney falls for after he saves her from her abusive boyfriend. The relationship soon heats up, and fans are treated to a hot and heavy sex scene which sees Jason groping his scantily-clad girlfriend before the pair fall into bed. In stages of undress Trawick displays a very fake-looking tattoo that covers his back as part of his 'bad boy' character. At the beginning of the video Britney is in an unhappy relationship, and gets into a physical fight with her boyfriend at a fancy party. First he yells at her in front of other guests and then she catches him chatting up another woman. When she confronts him, he drags her outside and punches her. Trawick appears as her knight in shining armour, knocking the boyfriend out before speeding off with Britney on his motorcycle. The bad boy soon leads the pop star astray though, into a world of crime. The pair hold up a store with guns in scenes filmed in London last month. They are chased down by the police to their hideaway. But the couple's passion can't be tamed even as the authorities gun down the walls. The embrace as bullets pierce the walls and their belongings are destroyed, before the pair make their getaway. —Daily Mail

For "Criminal," Britney Spears' fourth single off Femme Fatale, the Weaved One jetted off to London to shoot the bullett-addled music video, which co-stars her real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick. It's a real Natural Born Killers affair, which finds the pair going on a crime spree, doing all kinds of The Sexy (in bed, in a shower, etc.) and, eventually, being hunted down by the police. While many artists in the midst of their world tour who are this deep into an album at this point would be serving up a video with concert footage, thankfully Lady Spears is still giving it 100% on the video front. And, musically, this flute jam is definitely one of the most interesting and unusual Britney singles to come along in years. —Chart Rigger

Britney's sexy abusive British boyfriend at the beginning of the "Criminal" video speaks with a Michael Caine East London Cockney accent but they are at a fancy, posh-seeming party, so what gives. He demands respect and then he creeps up on some Leona Lewis look-alike while Britney is in the bathroom, wearing a classy grown-woman dress and hairstyle, spraying herself with her own perfume. Brit calls the home-wrecker a ho. The guy might be Cockney, because if Britney's fictional boyfriend were both evil and upper-class the video would definitely be seen as the London Riot rioter-sympathizing propaganda it was tarred in the U.K. press as potentially being during the shoot. Although, the video does take place in Hackney and Britney is credited with the story idea. Britney Spears: secret proletariat sympathizer. Britney's leather-jacketed hobo thug of an American IRL boyfriend (Jason Trawick) beats the crap out of her British one. Britney gets revenge in heels. A close-up of a newspaper talking about interest rates and a series of bank heists by Britney and her Clyde adds to suspicion this is Britney's "Tout Va Bien." This has been the best era of Britney videos in a while. She is dancing within her abilities (which have been limited ever since her knee injury in 2004) and playing with her image as dangerous, and bad to know. Hence the album title Femme Fatale. Speaking of which: black lace, shower sex, and coffee in bed! Britney seems happy in this video. Unlike some other times, the happiness here seems genuine, not defensively forced (cough cough Beyoncé). Sure, she's still acting, but the best Britney has always been goofy Britney. Making out in a hail of bullets and vogue-ing for the camera to the low-key grower of a pop-rock bopper. The perennially flawless princess has been integrated with the off-screen corn muffin.—Gartland

Art imitates life for Britney Spears as she enjoys a steamy shower sex scene with her real-life boyfriend in her latest jaw-dropping music video. The popstar cast Jason Trawick as her leading man in the controversial film for her new single, Criminal, which sees Britney strip naked and physically attacked. The pair give fans a sneek peek behind closed doors as they act out x-rated scenes in the Bonnie and Clyde-eqsue plot. The five minute, 22 second video shows 29-year-old Britney escape from her violent British boyfriend, played by Freddie Bradshaw, and go on the run with bad boy Jason. In a shocking scene, the singer is struck across the face by her abusive partner, who is then beaten up by tough guy Jason, who arrives like a knight in shining armour on a motorbike. The pair, who have been dating for two years, then embark on a crime spree across London, robbing shopkeepers at gunpoint and stopping only to romp in a variety of places. One raunchy scene shows heavily tattooed Jason, 39, groping his lingerie-clad girlfriend before the pair fall into bed. The film ends as the pair kiss passionately in a hail of bullets before riding off into the sunset on a motorcycle.—Mirror

Just know this right off the bat: “Criminal” isn’t just the greatest video Britney Spears has done during the Femme Fatale era–it’s one of her best videos to date. As the camera pans in during the clip’s opening scene, we find our beloved Britney–dressed up in a gorgeous gown–uncomfortably glancing around inside a crowded soiree. Serving pure “I’m not here for this” frowny face, Spears is suddenly hassled by her sailfish boyfriend for not looking and acting the part. Hurt, Britney soon retires to the bathroom–amazingly pre-prepared with B’s entire suite of fragrances–to wipe away her tears. Keenly aware that she’s paired up with a major schmuck, she sets back out to the party–and that’s about when things start getting, well, ****ing amazing. Is there anything else to do but gleefully gasp with delight and clutch your pearls as Britney strolls toward her rotten man-candy millionaire, now flirting with another girl, and smugly offers to the sorry wench: “So, you’re not working the street corner tonight I see…”?! The scene quickly leads to a rather heated altercation outside between Brit and her dastardly date, and then a–no, wait. I–is that–did he just?! I know he did not just... he just slapped her. A mystery man–played by real-time beau Jason Trawick–leaps out from the shadows and saves the day by delivering a quick one-two punch to the bastard. That’s when Brit Brit decides to come in for a parting kick goodbye–straight between the legs! From there on in, it’s all sex and stealing for this Bonnie & Clyde duo, featuring some pistol grippin’, some convenience store robbin’, and even a little steamy fun in the shower that makes the sauna scene in “Womanizer” look like child’s play. Also: Do I actually need to mention that she looks beautiful? It’s always a given, but here…especially so. Just flaw free. She’s an angel sent from above. Beautiful, gorgeous, stunning Britney. Sadly for B-Girl and Jason, the cops finally come a-knockin’ for their heads in the clip’s final few moments. Sharing one last passionate kiss between themselves (well, and some rapid-fire bullets), the couple prepare to meet their maker. Or do they? As the dust settles and the cops come in to see the damage dealt, reality hits–the duo’s disappeared! That's right! Our Femme Fatale lives to see another day, riding on the back of her bad boy’s bike! (Presumably to the nearest tattoo shop, where he’ll have her name tattooed on his arm…she’s his lucky charm, you know!) If you were really paying attention, you’d know that all those SWAT teams weren’t coming in to take down Spears and Trawick for stealing a candle or two from the local convenience store. They were coming because Spears just ****ing slayed every single pop star in the building's entire life. In all seriousness, the video for “Ciminal” not only encapsulates the mystery and intrigue of the Femme Fatale era oh-so-perfectly, but truly stands as a shining example of why I’ll always remain a fan of–nay, an rabidly unapologetic fan of the Living Legend herself, Miss Britney Spears. It’s absolutely perfect in every single way. A candidate for the video of the year? Why yes..yes, indeed. I’m also quite thankful to Mr. Chris Marrs Piliero for directing such a truly incredible production. —Muumuse

Britney’s “Criminal” music video is so bad, bad, but so good, good. Britney Spears has churned out some great videos from her Femme Fatale album. Now Britney has released her ‘best’ Femme Fatale video yet: “Criminal”. Shot on location in Britney’s favorite city, London, the “Criminal” visual sees The Holy Spearit playing an oppressed high-society gal, who, for unknown reasons, is stuck under the thumb of some abusive jerk-off boyfriend. Fed-up with being treated like trash, Britney grows a backbone and calls out Mr. Wrong in front of one of his floozies, which leads her to getting a fabulously fake Dynasty slap to the face. But hang on: Nobody slaps Britney Spears in the face and gets away with it! That’s why her real life beau Jason Trawick is there to save the day, laying the smackdown on the English Muffin and rescuing Britney from her glamorous prison. Naturally, with Jason being a dirty criminal and all, their getaway quickly spirals into a Bonnie & Clyde-esque crime spree. Sound amazing so far? It is, and it’s positively oozing with so much B-movie melodrama that it’s like a season finale of Melrose Place mixed with Showgirls and a little Barb Wire to boot! Britney’s acting just makes it all the more fabulous when she almost lays a round of bullets into a hapless convenience store clerk. Seeing low-key talent agent Jason Trawick playing a gun toting criminal is absurd, and for a real-life couple, the gratuitous sex scenes between Jason and Britney contain about as much chemistry as two cold cadavers lumped on top of each other — which only adds to the stunningness of “Criminal”! I love it. My favorite part is when Britney casually sprays herself with Fantasy and Radiance in the bathroom, and when she whips her hair back ‘n’ forth is that angelic hallway. Let’s hope that this cinematic classic gets Britney another top ten hit! —The Prophet Blog

A little scuffle and a smack in the face only to be rescued by real life boyfriend Jason and the credits start rolling for the bad ass 5:22 second video. The Femme Fatale era began a bit shaky but we have loved every moment of it. With each video and every live performance that followed we began to see the fire inside of her burn brighter and brighter. “Criminal” is a clear sign that the little spark that was dimly lit months ago is burning it’s brightest and I can only hope that the flame continues to grow. Britney Spears’ new ‘Criminal’ video has proven that she is still one of the best visual entertainers of her generation. Filmed on the streets of London last month, the cinematic clip was directed by Chris Marrs Piliero. This video was certainly a captivating piece! Spears was bold and brazen in her role, and provided more excitement than she has done during the last 4 years. It is amazing how many people today claim that originality is impossible in the current era of Pop music yet some visual artists like Spears continue to experiment with new treatments. Indeed, this interesting twist on the otherwise banal Bonnie & Clyde theme confirmed that acts do not have to copy every move from previous productions. Instead, they can find create ways to mix old concepts with fresh ideas. Beyoncé could learn a lot from Spears.—The Lava Lizard

An unforbidden love resulting in an armed robbery provide the concept for Britney Spears‘ new music video ‘Criminal’. The clip features a cameo appearance by real life beau Jason Trawick. The question is, does the Chris Marrs Piliero directed music video live up to the hype? Yes it does! The London-located high budgeted, blockbuster inspired music video was sexy, dramatic, cinematic and very exciting to watch. I wasn’t even that bothered by the product placement (when she goes to the ladies room, she sprays herself with her own Radiance perfume). —Toya'z World

Only Britney could get away with this. Britney Spears' new video for Criminal has arrived! So after doing a little dance of joy we started watching it and we were a little shocked by what we saw. The video features Britney's real life boyfriend Jason Trawick as the criminal she's in love with and it's hard to tell where the acting stops during their racy scenes! The video starts out with Britney doing a little bit of acting in a scene with her controlling British boyfriend, and some inevitable product placement when she goes to the bathroom for a good old cry. Then Jason comes along and punches the guy about a bit for hurting Brit. Britney gets her own back by kicking him in the crotch too. Nice work. The two flee the scene and go on the run from the law, robbing banks and getting it on in between. A LOT. Must be all that adrenalin. She may be on the run but Britney always has time to look sexy in front of a back lit doorway. This video has taught us that Britney's boyfriend is HOT but Jason's lovely torso would be a lot more appealing if he didn't have the word 'Goose' emblazoned across his chest. Some of the sex scenes are pretty intimate. We'd say get a room but they did. They just decided to film themselves in it.—Sugarscape

With "Criminal," Britney Spears has finally made a grimy sequel to her super-spy "Toxic" video. Once you make it past the awkward abusive relationship in the 90-second prologue -- the video really takes off into the gray streets of London's Stoke Newington neighborhood. "Criminal" is a potent cocktail with equal parts "urban Badlands" and 9 1/2 Weeks. The video could have been titled "'11 Bonnie & Clyde," a worthy successor, but with Spears grabbing the criminal reins in the Clyde role. Spears' fun "I Wanna Go" gave hints that Spears was ready to break out after a series of music videos where it seemed like she was just being propped up against a green screen. Here, she's actually physically and verbally interacting with other people, and it seems natural. On the close-ups, her eyes are locked in and engaged with the viewer. Best of all, Spears is once again behaving like the provocative pop star that was a controversial trailblazer. If Spears is completely comfortable making out in bed and getting naked in the shower with cameras rolling, it's probably because her real-life boyfriend Jason Tratwick -- with some fake tattoos -- plays the role of her partner-in-crime. For almost six minutes, Spears lives up to her album title, Femme Fatale. —Amplifier

Britney Spears’ new video, Criminal, has got our hearts racing. If there's one thing we know about Britney Spears it's that she makes a damn good video. And the video for new single, 'Criminal,' is arguably her raunchiest offering EVER. Criminal contains all the standard Britney video expectations: 1. A storyline - The song's about being in love with a criminal and boy does Britney act this out. There's people punching each other in the face, motorbike rides, guns, shop hold-ups, police firing bullets everywhere - the whole thing is like a mini movie. 2. Product placement - Like the video for 'Hold it Against Me,' Britney douses herself with her own perfume. Fair enough, it does smell amazing. 3. Hair flicking - a Britney trademark, although to be honest there's not enough of it in this video. 4. Lots of kissing, straddling and nakedness - Crikey, Britney has cranked up the sex factor BIG TIME in this video. We see her pinned against a wall, then in a sexy negligee, a hunky guy licking her stomach, naked in the shower... it's almost too much for us to take so early in the morning. The verdict? Britney is back.—Yahho! UK

Britney Spears’ video for “Criminal” is out, and gang recruitment is already up 200% since 8 a.m.! This has not happened. But you imagine it’s the nightmare scenario you imagine at least one U.K. politician agonized over–or you hope it was, because such outrage just isn’t suited to tiny subconscious inklings of possibly doing criminal behavior after watching it in a music video from a guy who’s also been a love interest. Watching a Britney Spears video: gateway to crime! All grumbling aside, this is probably the best video of the Femme Fatale era. Well done.—Popdust

Whenever we're in need of a pure pop song and video, we can always count on Britney Spears to save us from musical mediocrity. Her latest video, for new single "Criminal," trades pop dance moves and scenes for an actual storyline. We open with Spears peering curiously about during a party, which naturally leads her date to assume she's having a bad time and telling her to smile. She refuses to meet his gaze, which the more observant will take to mean she's just not into him. After a few harsh words from her date, she escapes. Cut to the bathroom, where Spears wipes away a single tear and sprays on a copious amount of Radiance by Britney Spears (Fantasy by Britney Spears is in the background, naturally) before heading back out. When Spears sees her date flirting with another woman she goes for the streetwalker joke and leaves. This causes her date to chase after and eventually slap her, which is seen by a party caterer (played by Spears' actual boyfriend Jason Trawick), who beats the guy up. After he incapacitates her date, Spears proceeds to ride home with this strange man, as one does. Never mind the fact he could be a criminal. What follows are alternating scenes of guns, sex, guns, sex, robbery, sex, attempted police capture, and presumed sex. And it's great. It's exactly what we wanted from a Britney Spears full-length music video—unapologetically gritty, sexy, and peppered with shots of Spears dancing. We want a sequel. —Interview Magazine
Someone has been jealous a certain criminal was overshadowed by finding love
Why the **** is a 4th single from a album that recently fell off (and re-entered) the Billboard 200 even in the conversation with a ****ing lead single?!

**** up outta here ho.
Ask duca. He has literally been in every WFL thread trying to discredit her.
Anyway this a'int about RIH, so lets carry on. The video was brilliant and brit deserves all the praise
Good for Brit, it's a great video and she deserves the good reviews. She gets a lot of bad media attention all of the time, it's good for her to be getting some brilliant reviews for something she's put a lot of hard work into.
Let's clock the tea on the Rolling Stone article. Selective reading can cause problems:

The first minute of music-free plot features some stiff acting and a surprising bit of violence, but from there on out, we're in the usual comfort zone of a Britney video – sexy dancing, sexy vamping – with the added bonus of gratuitous PDA between the pop star and her real-life boyfriend, Jason Trawick.
