The last two things Rihanna has released (album cover, WFL video), I can't help but find comparisons to other artist's work. "Stop comparing, Rihanna is Rihanna, and no one else!" I know this, but honestly the comparisons are so similar that I can't help it.
Not only does "We Found Love" sound similar to Marina & The Diamonds' "Radioactive" (because they're both house songs), but the videos are really similar. The grocery/supermarket scene in particular, and just doing immature, carefree things throughout the video.
If you can be bothered, watch "Radioactive" yourself, and maybe you'll see what I see.
The video is a combination of Requiem for a Dream/Radioactive/Skins.
OT: I've been jamming too M&D for weeks now, Radioactive is my ****.

I haven't watched it yet, but there is a thread for a Cee Lo Green video that is really similar to the WFL video, too. So we can probably add Cee Lo to that list you have there.
Omg, I LOVE "Radioactive"! I love M&TD in general, too.

Let's just see if Rihanna (or that other sissy) will set a new trend by doing a vid with this theme.
Anyways, NO ONE is orginal these days. Everyone steals and copies these days, and they pass it on as their own original idea.
'Good artists copy, great artists steal.'
Pretty much. Originality (in my opinion) is the way a person can take a range of ideas and use them in a way that is fresh and creative. Someone will have always done it first.
I don't think any artist intentionally copies anyone else's work. How many people have actually seen some of these comparison videos before today, or yesterday? I'm sure Rihanna hasn't seen most either. But in a world where music videos have been around for so long, it's nearly impossible to create work that people say wasn't copying or influenced in any way possible.

Me too, but I don't expect it until November because Rihanna was recording some stuff for TTT recently. The next 2 missions will probably be BTS videos pt. 2 & 3
The Chris Brown reference is clear. To glorify, glamorize, romanticize and idolize abusive relationships, is reckless, ignorant, imbecilic, weak - and dangerous. Thus I have absolutely no sympathy nor any respect for this woman
She is in no way, shape, or form, glamorizing abusive relationships. If anything she's showing how the good times keep people from leaving and ignoring the relationship's bad. And at the end she does what most abused partners do not, and that's leave. It clearly shows how the relationship caused her emotional distress. I don't see how that is glorifyng abusive relationships. Some people just always have to make a negative out of everything.
