It does depend heavily on your major. But if someone wants an entry level position with a great company right out of the gate, where you got your degree from plays a HUGE role.
Well if one person attended the University of Washington and another attended Harvard, both of which have great Medical departments, I can promise you that employers would look into far more aspects of their possible employees than just where they got their degree from.
I'm so happy you said that. You basically just proved my point. You will know better and more experienced people from a school with a better program. You might know some rich ass lawyers at Harvard, but what good does that do if I want to be an engineer. But at Georgia Tech you might meet some incredible and rich engineers, who can actually help you and be beneficial in the future. Ok I'm done preaching.

Some of my friends attended big name schools just to brag and boast about it. I hope ****y isn't like that because I like him.
Meanwhile I'm attending a nice university and work as an orderfiller and I make more than all my friends even though they've already graduated and I haven't. So IDK. Big name colleges aren't always the best.

It doesn't all come down to the college and/or university you attend. My degree from the UW will serve me greatly in both Dentistry and the Music Business, though a degree isn't necessary for the latter.
To be honest, I still don't what field I want to go into after graduating.

Ugh, that sounds like the pits. But it also sounds like 6 figures a year. BOOK!
Niece, you're not dumb. Most people don't know the difference and/or don't care to mind it. I love that most don't, though, since orthodontists find themselves to be above dentists and they absolutely explode when they're mistakenly called dentists.
