Sam Evans, please report back to McKinley High. We've missed your trouty mouth.
Chord Overstreet, who famously turned down a recurring role for season three, is coming back to Glee! What brings him back to Lima, Ohio? Here's what a source is telling us...
A show source confirms to us the TVLine.com report that Overstreet is finalizing a deal to return to Glee as a recurring character (not a series regular) as early as episode eight. According to our source, Sam will come back for Sectionals. No word yet on exactly how his return to Lima will be written in, but all we know about Sam this season is that he did date Mercedes during the summer until his family moved out of state.
Fox isn't confirming the deal, but we can still speculate on his comeback until we get more info, right? And our show source also tells us that Overstreet will continue recording his album, which is one of the reasons he passed on Glee's third season.
Back in July, executive producer Brad Falchuck claimed at Comic-Con that Overstreet turned down an invitation to return for season three. "We did invite him back for a portion of the season, to see if being a regular was a possibility," he explained. "But he declined the offer, which we were really disappointed by. We wanted him back because we like Chord personally and had some good stories planned for him and with Mercedes (Amber Riley). He decided he would have opportunities elsewhere that he would like to pursue, and we can't force him to work, so we wished him well."
Perhaps Sam will return and win back Mercedes? Or will he still have feelings for ex-girlfriend Quinn (Dianna Agron)? So many possibilities already!
So they'll probably just use him to have more vocals on their performance for sectionals and ditch him again when it's finished
Gerl, they didn't ditch him, he wanted to be part of the regular cast, not a "guest actor" = more cash, and Ryan said No but gave him another option and he refused.
