Well you clearly haven't listened to her last album, yeah?
I loved how everyone seems to ignore Goodbye Lullaby. And those who do disregard it as boring. That's subjective, and it doesn't take away from it's maturity.
Forget her Let Go crap, or her UMS tracks. Her new songs destroy them, vocally, lyrically and emotionally:
'Not Enough' and 'Everybody Hurts' were the definition of this album! These songs is where Avril wanted to go and 'Push' was obviously the lead single she wrote for the album as she said it was the song she wanted as single. It's sad to see what RCA did to this whole era. The only good thing that came from RCA was 'Wish You Were Here'.
'Push' and 'Everybody Hurts' would have been the singles off Goodbye Lullaby, adult contemporary gold! This album would have sold like hotcakes after a 4 year break if she releases masterpieces like 'Push' and 'Everybody Hurts'. I can't believe 2 songs out of the 14 she recorded for this album (WTH and Smile) ruined her image as an artist! The other 12 songs are acoustic adult contemporary masterpieces! Oh well, no one will give it a chance and only want to bash it! Her move to Epic hopefully will allow her to make the transition 100% to AC and get out of that pop mess! She doesn't need top 10 singles, she just needs a better image and better album sales, which a move to AC will bring her!
I mean 'Push' is a very catchy song!
Clearly meant to be the 2nd single as she started promoting it for a few weeks!
Ha you wish! She will never be over. Avril even said herself she will write music for the rest of her life and release it with or without a label.... cause guess what? She CAN! She doesn't rely on labels, producers, writers and teams of people to make her albums. She hasn't made an album with her label's observation since 2004. She may not always be a mainstream artist but she will ALWAYS be around no matter what and you will have to deal. She will never be over or end!
Unlike your fave, when her expirary date (I'm surprised it hasn't come yet) comes, she will be sitting next to Rosie O' Donnel on a reality TV show for middle aged mothers
She definitely doesn't suck. She is still great and her vocals are getting better and better.
But she and primarily her previous label RCA made some very wrong decisions in her career and that's why she lost relevancy. And there is another thing - radio. Radio is not supporting her like it should. I wonder why.
