New single: Marit Larsen – Coming Home
Marit Larsen went to New York to write, and returned back home with her bags full of songs. The first track from the album Spark, is the single "Coming Home".
After the great success with The Chase (2008), #1 in both Norway and Germany, hundreds of acoustic versions of "If A Song Could Get Me You" on German radio stations, club tours, festival tours and almost two years on the road, Marit wasn’t tired or fed up. On the contrary - she was already ready to work towards the next album. She just needed a writing break.
- I felt restlessness in relation to the songs I felt I was missing in my live set, and the songs I needed to write. I get an itch that does not stop until the tracks are made.
So Marit packed her bags and moved to New York for an indefinite time. She stayed there for eight months.
- It was very nice to be a bit isolated, to figure out who I had become. Who am I when nobody listens? What do I do when no one expects anything? It was very pleasant to find out however, that my music still had very clear parallels to what I've made before. It was an important trip for me, both as a person and songwriter.
First single "Coming Home" is written by Marit Larsen and produced by Kåre Vestrheim, who has worked with the two previous albums.
- We have worked better than ever. He is incredibly good at challenging me.
"Coming Home" will be streamed on this Facebook page from Friday October 14th, and will be available in iTunes October 17th (For the Nordics. Germany, Switzerland, Austria dates coming up).
Spark is released in Norway November 18th. (Dates for Germany, Switzerland, Austria coming up)
