Sources tell TMZ.com that executives at Virgin Records are freaking out over Janet Jackson's extreme weight gain, as they have been counting on the singer to deliver a much needed hit for the label this year.

Well I mean it's weird...every pic of her I have seen is like working out with a trainer. Yet the most recent pic she still looks huge and perhaps even bigger then pics from a month ago. Crappy trainer? I mean I assume she is trying to lose pounds fast with celebrity diet people, yet no difference?

I find it hard to believe that shes at almost 230 and especially since she has a new album comin out soon. LOL

She did gain huge amounts of weight, I mean she's been big for a year now....

Not to turn this into a M v. J battle thread, but Mariah can be as fat as she wants to be - as long as her voice sounds okay (in studio). She's not famous primarily for her looks or dancing style, like some people are.

Actually no, they wouldn't have to worry about Mariah's weight, because she did just have 3 top 2 hits last year I believe...I was referring to them needing a hit.

First, the news about Virgin execs being worried about Janet's weight is from PopDirt.com (a very, very reliable source)

Second, Janet does this almost every time before an album comes out. She has gained weight, but I believe it is exaggerated by her intentional wearing of baggy clothes. I remember before the "Damita Jo" album, fans were concerned about weight. Then, she came out with 6 pack abs and then the critics had to shut up - but then the Superbowl mess happened and...you know the story.

So, Janet has always struggled with her weight. It is no secret. I thank God she is not in a worst condition considering the backlash she received in 2004, whether warranted or unwarranted. It was hell! So, I believe 2006 will be a much better year for her.

Janet is fighting her genetic destiny. she's born to be a fat girl and is fighting it desperately.
She's known for her yoyo weight gain/loss. it is definately not healthy and will affect her in the long run.
But being that she has an album coming out, best believe she'll be flexin the six pack pretty soon.
Those baggy clothes make her appear bigger than she really is.
