Bono and The Edge pay secret visit to R&B star
STAR TREATMENT: Rihanna never left her room in the Clarence
BONO and The Edge made a secret visit to Rihanna while she was holed up in Dublin's Clarence Hotel last weekend.
Rihanna arrived in the U2-owned hotel in the early hours of last Sunday. "She took over the entire penthouse and set up a recording studio upstairs," says an insider.

"She didn't venture downstairs at all and all her food was sent up to her."
But it was on Monday afternoon that she had her VIP visitors. "Bono and The Edge popped in to wish her well," says our mole.
"She had a good laugh with them and then left the hotel around 6pm to do her show at the 02."
She wasn't the only well known face in the hotel. "The Minister for the Environment, Phil Hogan, was also there, as was the world chess champion and many chess enthusiasts.
Rihanna did not return to the Clarence, instead preferring to party with her dancers and team backstage at the O2. The star had come under fire from a Co Down farmer earlier in the week for showing off a bit too much flesh in his field.
Some fans at the O2 were surprised that there were some five-and six-year-olds kids there, despite Rihanna's on-stage sexual gyrations, which left little to the imagination.

And as for Calvin Harris dissing the Clarence, saying Bono makes good tunes but "your hotel is s**t", our mole said: "We don't' know what he's on about as he didn't stay in the hotel and was only there for an hour or so."
