Am I the only one who knows nothing about Madonna? Damn, I must've been living under several rocks as a kid
Not really, she wasn't as huge in the late 90s and 00s. Her time was really 80s-early 90s and for our generation to hear her either our parents would have played her records or we seeked them out.
You may remember her more recent hits like '4 Minutes' or maybe even 'Hollywood' or my favorite song by her 'Don't Tell Me'. They are a lot more recent. She definitely has some songs worth looking into if you can get past her attitude and lack of soaring vocal ability.
I discovered and got into Express Yourself after the whole Born This Way fiasco. Couldn't stop playing both songs for months.
I felt so late and embarrassed that it took a Lady Gaga scandal for me to discover Express Yourself. That's when I knew it was time for me to get into Madonna, that song is ****ing amazing. Especially the extended opening version on The Immaculate Collection.
The only Madonna songs I really like are the ones every knows tbh
Frozen
Open Your Heart
Like A Prayer
Material Girl
Celebration
Papa Don't Preach
Don't Tell Me
Music
Vogue
Express Yourself
Ray of Light
Beautiful Stranger
I have never really had the patience to make it all the way through a song to get the full feel of it, I get frustrated and bored with her too easily. I'd download an album, listen to it a bit...lose my patience and not go on to the next one. Maybe I should check out the recommendations here and try and get into it again, I'm always open to trying new music.

Yea I guess.. She's a very mysterious woman to me. All I remember are her iconic pine cone **** & the fact that she kissed Britney. She must be an amazing woman to have impacted the industry as such.

I wouldn't say amazing. I'd say she is ballsy and lucky with a fantastic team working with her.

It took the death of Michael Jackson to even make me give her & Janet a try.

I couldn't escape MJ growing up so I know his music by default. And I still haven't given Janet a proper try, but I know enough about her music to be able to tell you the good songs.
I honestly believe that, they just seem very.......... basic to me. A band of men who are overly praised for something they didn't even create. None of them are superior vocalists, they don't dance, and their music is praised and overrated no matter how terrible. Madonna is a visionary among all things, which is extremely important to me. She reaches varieties of people which is also important to me, not just hipsters, or white people, or older people. People of all colors, sexes, sizes, shapes, and etc... I don't see that for the Beatles. And while one may argue they have fans who aren't white hipsters, I'm sure Madonna has way more in her stock.
Everybody loves the Beatles, their fanbase is a lot more varied than Madonna's... hipsters don't even use at all

!!!!!!
Chile, there is so much WRONG with what "satellites" wrote that I don't know where to begin. The Beatles are visionaries and are responsible for what we call albums with intro/outro and it being a body of work instead of just a collection of studio filler for whatever single that was the current hit. They are one of the first to actually have CREATIVE album artwork. Everybody from Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan to Boyz II Men and En Vogue have covered Beatles material. So that debunks the claim that only "hipsters", "white people" and "older people" like them. Their songs have transcended time and are apart of the Great American Songbook. The Beatles are the first major pop stars this world has ever known. They unlike Elvis didn't steal from black folk which makes them even more special.
You don't have to like them but you must give credit where is credit is due. I think Britney Spears is the biggest loser in the history of music but I will not deny her ability to sell millions of albums and her importance to Pop Culture and today's generation of homosexuals.

I like some of the songs by The Beatles, but for the most part, I find them very basic and boring after a while. That'll sound "ignorant" to some people, but whatever. I think most of the time people just say they love The Beatles to make themselves sound hip and educated in music and to fit in.
I like your list of Madonna songs, but you add Thief of Hearts and Inside of Me in there. Those songs *****! I don't know if you've heard them yet but omg.
