I could not agree more. When Michael Jackson was alive, he was basically the only artist I listened to, every day I would spend ages looking at news, pictures, on forums. I was obsessed.

When he passed I had a void in my life. Since then I have become a fan of all music, and spend probably an hour every day reading music charts, news and listening to new music.

So I am now sort of a music stan. At least music will never die and leave a void in my life.

Another thing, for me stanning has always been about relating to the artist.
I always felt I could relate to MJ so well. Shy, compassionate, misunderstood.
And now Eminem, awkward childhood, reclusive.

I think we stan for them because we see ourselves like them.

I think that the terms fan and stand are misunderstood. Most of the people on ATRL are fans. Being a stan is more of an unhealthy obsession with someone.

Seriously tho: I stan because I am inspired by Gaga. Her music just makes you feel good. I stanned after TFM Era and being slayed by The Fame Monster. And being gay I love the message of Born This Way.

At least I can yell out to homophobes: "BITCH, I was Born This Way, you can suck my ph****t ass!"

My obsession with Gaga isn't too extreme or unsual, but it does help me a lot in finding some happiness. I'm proud when she's successful. I sometimes cry when she cries. My heart melts whenever she does something wonderful. I'm not jealous with her at all, I always wish the best for her. I just can't help it. Pathetic life, lol.
