Solange is EVERYTHING.

Meh. Between Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland, and Solange, the Beyhive tends to give the most love to Solange because she's Bey's sister and because she has a sound similar to Bey's (with live instrumentals) and when she performs she gives off Bey vibes. I believe that's one of the major reasons why she's given leniency. In my opinion, just because you're more quirky than other performers, doesn't mean you have more artistry. So I'm not here for people saying that Solange is more of an artist than Kelly Rowland just because Solange has an offbeat fashion sense and made an album that sounded like the 60's. Next.

And let's not forget Ode to Marvin and Would've Been the One, dear.

Talented singer-songwriter who marches to the beat of her own drum. I like and respect her.

And I don't think she really gives a **** about not being as popular as her sister. She seems quite content to just do what she loves her own way. Popularity isn't a bad thing, but it's not everything either, folks.

I think she's talented, but I also find her extremely pretentious. Her style is so Erykah Badu to me. However, I do enjoy some of her music such as "Cosmic Journey."

Well I'm speaking for myself, but I'm "lenient" on Solange because I think that her music is refreshing and stands out from the rest, whereas Michelle and Kelly's solo projects bore me to tears for the most part.

Kelly AND Michelle are the definition of boring outside of a few songs. They have released generic, run-of-the-mill stuff. Solange IS more of an artist than those two because she writes her songs (and songs for others) and is doing something totally different from the **** those two are doing. She knows what she wants to be as an artist, while those two are trying to find themselves. I respect that more than Kelly trying to put together a hit after 20 other songs before flopped.

Why are we acting like Solange is some underrated, original artist? Of course she doesn't sound like anyone else... because she focused her sound around a decade -- that's why. It's not because she's "out of the box." Florence Welch is an artist, someone who creates their own genre and sets themselves apart while being original, Solange just rehashed the 60's. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed a few songs on "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams," but I won't praise her for being inventive or "refreshing," because that's just not the case. She received the right amount of exposure for that album and deserved nothing more.

She thinks she has 16 Grammys.
