I love when ppl post that GMA performance lol. No one ever understands the layering required for that song. lol Mariah's singing two part simultaneously on the track so when it comes to singing it live, she opts for singing the layer that has the lower notes. Why? Because it's easier to sing and requires less breath as opposed to the 2nd layer which is higher but is also in her whisper register. What do you do when you whisper? You let out a lot of air.

So when the backing track malfunctioned and my girl kept the ball rolling... I was thoroughly excited. That GMA performance is my favorite performance of "Touch My Body". Also, that "Stop singing my part now, baby" line wasn't for her backup singers. It was for her backing track lol


Now, that performance of "Boy (I Need You)".... I can't defend that one lmao. I've probably only seen the full performance once or twice a while ago anyways.
