He isn't the first and won't be the last. Justin, Tamyra, Ruben, Clay, Taylor, Katherine, Alison, David A., and now Lee to name a few were all dropped or left. Idol contestants are no different than any other artist starting in the business. Even Lady Gaga and Katy Perry were dropped from their labels when they were starting out. It's just part of the business.
People would be naive to think if they win a show they're set on being super famous and selling millions. It's a good thing they dropped Idol's original name years ago... "American Idol: The Search For A Superstar" lol
