Faith Hill + Shania Twain were my first two loves. As I child I pretty much only knew country music, aside from some of the biggest pop hits. Then when I was 13, Disney Channel started getting really pop based with HSM and Hannah Montana (can you believe it's already been 5 years?).
From 13-15, I got really into the Disney Channel "pop" music. At the same time, I was also starting to listen to this new girl on country radio; her name was Taylor Swift, and I have loved her from literally the very first song.
It wasn't until the freshman year of high school (2008) that I started listening to Rihanna and Evanescence... Rihanna because my closest friend at the time played Disturbia for me on her iPod during gym class, and Evanescence because the same friend sang Lithium during gym class.
From Rihanna, I eventually progressed into Gaga and became more pop-oriented than country-oriented.
