Despite rumours last year of a Twitter feud between the star pair over Lady Gaga's video for "Alejandro" and its use of religious imagery (Katy's parents are pastors), in 2011 America's newest sweetheart is happy to follow int he footsteps of the 25-year-old First Lady of Pop.

Yet it seems that Katy is paying a little homage to her favorite icon. While she can't quite replicate the wig, the singer made do with a heart-shaped hair headband instead.
But where did that look inspiration come from? It seems pop's top ladies share a penchant for pink and purple 'dos!
