Yes, indie is great!!!!!!
Now let's see the Top 20. Don't forget to check out that peruvian band on #13!!!!!
20
The Mars Volta
The Widow
Frances The Mute
Freeze without an answer Free from all the shame
That trumpet by Flea is perfect for the song.
19
Straylight Run
Hands In The Sky (Big Shot)
Prepare To Be Wrong
This song sounds nothing like 'Existentialism On Prom Night', but it's a good different. I was shocked when I first listened to it. This song deserved Top 10, even Top 5, but it's too recent.
18
Beck
E- Pro
Guero
Best video 2005. Beck being genious time and again.
17
Alkaline Trio
Time To Waste
Crimson
I always missed it when I listened to the radio. That's how my obsession with this song began.
16
Ben Folds
Landed
Songs For Silverman
They didn't make it to number 1.
15
Stellastarr*
Sweet Troubled Soul
Harmonies For The Haunted
Yes Stellastarr*, with two Rs and the asterisk. How anoying can that be.
14
Stereophonics
Dakota
Language, Sex, Violence, Other?
Like nothing Stereophonics have done before.
13
Los F***in' Sombreros
Charlespunk
Tornasol
This is the only peruvian band on the countdown. YOU HAVE TO CHECK THEM OUT I'm begging you!!!!! They rock. They already have two albums: Bazuka! (2003) and Tornasol (2005). Make sure you check out tracks from both of them, since both albums are good. The last concert I attended from them wasn't really a concert, it was a 70s party. They play Janis Joplin like no one here in Peru. IF YOU DO CHECK THEM OUT, PLS PM ME WITH YOUR COMMENTS.
12
Sum 41
Pieces
Chuck
This was the song I related to the most this year.
11
Echo And The Bunnymen
Stormy Weather
Syberia
Amazing comeback after 4 years. This song is really simple, but it has something else. I just don't know what it is. Echo And The Bunnymen still rocks!!!!
Tomorrow the Top 10!!!!! It includes the best song in spanish for 2005. We've come a long way, you just can't miss that dramatic ending.

OK people let's finish it off, here's my top 10
10
Daniel Powter
Bad Day
Daniel Powter
Best pop song of 2005. Unfortunately, it seems like he's gonna be one of those one hit wonders we would have liked to hear more from.
09
The Bravery
An Honest Mistake
The Bravery
This song's very 80s!!!!!
08
Nine Inch Nails
The Hand That Feeds
With Teeth
07
Catupecu Machu
Magia Veneno
El Numero Imperfecto
De lo oscuro hacia la luz, tooooooooooooodo nuevo.
Their classic song will always be 'Y Lo Que Quiero Es Que Pises Sin El Suelo', but this one is even better.
06
Interpol
Evil
Antics
My favorite song of the album, along with Narc, Slow Hands, Take You On A Cruise, Not Even Jail. Who am I Kidding, I like all of them, but C'mere not that much.
05
LCD Soundsystem
Tribulations
LCD Soundsystem
04
The Arcade Fire
Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)
Funeral
From here up, any song could have been number 1. The four of them are 10/10
03
My Chemical Romance
Helena
Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge
I've never been so obsessed with a song before. The video makes it even better. That choreography with the umbrellas is just the best part of the video.
02
Death Cab For Cutie
Soul Meets Body
Plans
So close.
01
Doves
Black & White Town
Some Cities
I hope it is their best song yet and not their best song ever. It's all about going back to their hometown (Manchester, UK) after traveling around the world. Add that magnificent drumbeat and you have the best song of 2005.
Thanks everyone for taking some time to read this. Hopefully I will make a countdown for next year too and, if I do, they will be 150 or maybe 200. 100 was too little to show all the greatness in music this year. See you next year and keep on listening to good stuff.
