So we always get news about american kids killing themselves because of bullying, also american kids killing people because they were bullied,etc.

Is bullying worse in the usa than in other countries?and how is it worse? i know bullying is kinda intense in japan/asia,

in my case im from peru and i have seen bullying but never like extreme, more like teasing.
I dont know if its just me that i havent noticed because if someone tried to bully me when i was in school i would have made a huge drama, i would tell my parents, would go talk to the director, the cops, get a lawyer, everyone. and try to get the person/persons expelled.


And this bullying stories are not new, i have seen bullying stories coming from the usa for years now.

Not necessarily. Perhaps the US media just reports on this more than other countries. You only know what's actually reported. It's a "hot topic" right now.

I'd rather be from a country full of bratty kids then from a country full of violent adults. North America is much safer compared to most other continents.

Well, I live in Chile and bullying is increasing here. But I haven't heard about kids under 14 killing themselves because of that. It's kinda shocking when you hear that an 11 year old boy killed himself because he was being bullied. The other day I was talking to my 48 year old classmate (yes, he's old) about bullying and he said that this has existed forever but now that it has a name people make more conscious about it and kids get more sensitive when they are bullied. I really don't know if he was right or what. But I know that USA it's not the only country that has bullying. Maybe in other countries the media don't make a big deal about it.

It appears to be taken less seriously by schools but bullying is alive and kicking everywhere. Just some places are more likely to turn a blind eye.

Well, in my country you won't see psychoes killing random people. You won't see shootings at the schools either.

I don't know about other countries, but where I'm from it's not bad at all. People are made fun of, sure. People are talked about, of course. But it's nothing terrible.

I think we are just becoming more aware if the issue on the media/internet. Bullying was probably worse in the past when most of us ignored the problem.

North America is one of the least safe western countries tbh, gang crime, gun laws...all of that adds up. Canada is way safer, as is the UK, Ireland...even with our constant bombings during the troubles we had less murder per capita.

America has the most diversity of people. There are whites, blacks, latinos, asians, midde easterns, pacific islanders, even native americans. And sadly, because of that and the racism that exists, bullying is worse in America.

I know that in Ireland bullying is taken pretty seriously unless the bullies are kids of people who finance the school, that is what happened to me, but we take it pretty seriously. Suspensions and even expulsions are pretty common. At my school you would have gotton detention and a letter home to your parents if you even breathed a sexual or racial slur.

Bullying is extremely rare here in Canada. Almost everyone at my school is laid back and gets along for the most part. Gays and lesbians certainly don't get bullied because our school has a strict policy against it. If you're caught you get expelled and charged with a hate crime!
