If it were just a sex tape, I would imagine the teacher unions would be suing left and right. The problem is that she was smoking marijuana.
Teachers need to realize that when you become a teacher, you're not just one from 8-4, but you're one every moment of your life. You have to keep up that image of a good teacher, whether you're at Wal-mart or at the clubs. A coworker of mine was caught wearing a provocative dress at a concert and I reminded her that she's a teacher 24/7 in the students' eyes.
This is so stupid. So, if I decide to become a teacher and film something private BEHIND THE CLOSED DOORS OF MY OWN HOUSE that has absolutely nothing to do with my job, I would get fired? Her ex must be really ****ed up if he's sending it out to people like that. I don't think that she deserved to be fired over it. It would be different if the sex tape involved one of her students or something. Plus, what if the video was filmed years ago? I'm sorry, I just fail to understand how this is worthy of a firing when people do much worse and get a slap on the wrist. The embarrassment of it leaking should be punishment enough.
