A good song is a good song, no matter if it's commercially friendly or not.
I really can't understand why is almost every fan in today's music industry so obsessed with the charts. And the worst thing imo is that they're becoming more important than music quality for many of them

I actually find this concept really amusing, as I come from a music background where people try to gain "street cred" by claiming to like music that nobody else has ever heard of with no hope of cracking the billboard charts. This whole concept of treating pop music as a sports event, and everyone having their ego tied up in how well "their" pop star is doing is kindof bizarre. It's good for the pop star though to have such engaged fans doing their best to boost sales and promo their artist, but also bad in that the fans seem to prefer generic sounding #1 hits that they can brag about verses decent and unique music.
Personally, I'd be fine with Gaga releasing albums with 15 songs of crap if we get 1 song like Bloody Mary. Luckily, BTW for me is more like 4 or 5 excellent songs, a boatload of good but not great songs, and a couple I really dont like much ( sorry Bad Kids, Fashion of his love).
