Her music on Pink Friday is more Pop than her earlier works, but I don't understand why people are acting like she is as Pop as Katy Perry and Ke$ha.

I don't recall a Katy/Ke$ha song sounding like M4L, Fly, Dear Old Nicki, GFLD, or even Super Bass. These songs all have pop elements, but are still delivered in rap form.

People are forgetting that Nicki still has songs like Roman's Revenge, Blow Ya Mind, and Did it on'em.

Exactly, that's the worst part.

People are forgetting she can do those songs because SHE is not focusing her career on being that kind of artist anymore.

She's moving more closely toward pop than rap now and is kind of selling out.

No she shouldn't, she should continue doing what she does: her, its obviously worked and gotten her to wear she's at right now. Btw are you talking music-wise when you compare her to Rihanna/Kesha/Gaga? Hopefully not, because nothing off of Pink Friday sounds like something any of those girls would do or sound good doing.

I'll give you "Turn Me on", but considering it is a feature I don't think it should be definitive of Nicki's discography like girls are making it out to be. Super Bass is different. It does have a heavy Pop influence, but it is still delivered in rap form. I don't see the Pop girls rapping.

She was more heavily influenced by Pop with Pink Friday than she was with her mixtapes, but for people to act like she is pure pop now is ridiculous. I can see where you're coming from with "selling out", but it isn't like she completely ditched what she was doing, and that is the thing most people don't see. Her poppiest songs (except for Turn Me on) still are vocally composed by rapping, and this is what people don't understand.

Oh and don't bring up her features as an indication of the direction she's going in as an artist because everyone made that mistake right before Pink Friday was released and were dissapointed to find out that the characters that appeared on 'Bottoms Up' and 'Monster' weren't on Pink Friday. Wait for her own material until you come out with such a premature decision of the direction she's going in.

No, I agree with you. Her fashion is really silly (and not in a good way) as of lately. But I just don't agree with the whole, "I loved so-and-so when they weren't as famous/before they 'changed'" approach of this thread. I'm assuming (and hoping) that this is just a phase and Nicki will figure out who she is in terms of her image by the next era. If not, I don't know how long she will be around in the industry.
