You do know that the Philippines was colonized by the United States for a number of decades, so it's no surprising that most Filipinos can understand and speak English since it's being taught in school. Supposed, considering that the country has a multitude of dialects they need a language(s) to communicate with each other hence English & Tagalog are the country's lingua franca.

Almost everyone can speak English here in the Philippines. Philippines is one the largest english speakers in the world.

You mean skin lightening creams? Those are very popular in other countries and have commercials about them, unfortunately. I don't agree with it though. At least in the U.S we don't have commercials about it. There is nothing wrong with any skin color you have. But other countries have there own preferences. In the U.S we do tanning. It is what it is.

But I find it funny though because SOME people that have a darker skin tone in other countries lighten their skin to make their skin lighter but some of us white/light skin people, we do the complete opposite, we tan to make our skin darker.

False and False. English is considered an asset in the Philippines, if you knew how to speak it, the opportunities are endless. Don't get me wrong though, "Tagalog" is such a beautiful language. I think what you're referring to in regards with mentality is that "the better English speaker you are, the more impressive you are in the eyes of most people." Which is indeed wrong, as we should love our own mother language. And in regards with the skin whitening products, I don't see anything wrong with that. Some people just have their own preferences. It's not different from those people who wanna get tanned.

Unfortunately. I KIND OF agree with this.
As a Filipino myself, growing up in America, I've met a few filipinos here in America. I see that they're very judgemental. They judge you for your skin color, and sometimes weight. I also noticed most of the filipinos I've met are like "homophobics"...

I don't know if it's just because the Filipinos I've met are old people, and they're not very educated on excepting everyone, as we are (some) today...
But I'm SURE not all filipino people are like that.
