its a flop. deal. american idol had no names when it premiered. this has simon mother****ing cowell. it should've done like idol.

X-Factor had good growth from Hour 1 to Hour 2. Should go up in the final numbers.

I still think it's too early to label it a flop, i think it will continue to grow.

Basically this! You can't compare an established brand that has almost been around for nearly a decade to a show making it's debut in the American market recently.

Idol was unknown back then. The format was new.

X Factor spend the most ever on promoting a show ($30 million) Simon and Paula had been seen as the stars of Idol. Simon told reporters he would be disappointed if the show doesn't get 20 million plus on its opening night.
