Thought Brandy‘s ‘Afrodisiac’ was hot? Then rejoice at the news she’s reuniting with producer Timbaland again for her new album, the first one on new label RCA. When speaking about what fans can expect from her upcoming album, she reveals: “The sound I am going for on the new album will be ‘futuristic R&B’. I want it to be different and new from R&B in the past and present, but not too different and new. I still want to be able to stay true to my R&B roots. I have a lot of new writers and producers to work with including Timbaland. I know my fans have been patiently waiting for new material from me and I want to give them what they deserve”.
She went onto to say her dream collaborations would be either with pop heavyweights Beyonce or Lady Gaga. I get so sceptical at the word “futuristic” because to me it implies she’s going to water down her sound to make it more radio friendly/pop influenced. This in itself refutes any claims pertaining to the “classic R&B” that Rico Love was vouching for previously.
