The demand was high; that's why she is turning to arenas, like every popular artist. She can say that she doesn't want to do arenas, but when it comes to a label making money, they are going to push her to do it. Most of those folks who go to see her are going to just scrape up money to go to her arena shows.

Oh, and Adele has done an arena show before. It was sold-out.

Actually, they'll probably be cheaper. If she's got the same demand for a higher supply, then the price will go down because of greater availability. Plus, if she's doing an arena tour with that same simple setup, then there aren't a lot of upfront costs that need to be recouped. The only confounding factor would be greed, I suppose.

****, I hate it when artists move up to bigger venues, and I don't see Adele as an arena-type of artist, but obviously it had to be done considering how wildly popular she's become, I guess. I'll still make an effort to see her.

Wow I was at an arena concert the other day and I was thinking about how it'd be like if Adele was there.

Other artists dream of moving to bigger venues. They don't talk about how much they hate bigger venues, then change their tune "I hate it but I'll do it for the money." That's the difference. Never say never b/c whether you make music for the eyes, the ears or the ass you are first and foremost a money-making product and you will be treated by your label as such.
