I've now listened to the song twice, and to be honest, I still don't know how I feel. The production is fantastic, and I really appreciate how mature the song is. It signifies good things to come from this album, and I can say I'm much more excited for the album and this era after hearing the song.
HOWEVER, the chorus is extremely weak and pathetic. I know she already did the whole quiet verses, huge chorus thing over a dance beat on OG, but something like that would have worked really well on this song. Having her repeat "we found love in a hopeless place" over and over again so quietly devalues the song quite a bit.
Sounds like something Alexis Jordan would do. A bit like Happiness. She will regain her crown in the UK with this. Love the chorus. The verses are kinda.. eh.
