Don't you think that this is really offensive? Just because some people don't think the improved quality is worth the price doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with them. It is a really insulting thing to say.
Except he said there was no noticeable improvement and not 'improvement is not worth it'....
I really hate the "difference" argument because I hear it far too often, even in my household, so I'm just going to post this and leave it at that:
If you are referring to watching a DVD on a standard definition television and watching a Blu-ray on a high definition television, then I can understand how you would feel that there isn't THAT much of a difference, because a DVD is designed for SDTVs and Blu-rays are designed for HDTVs, so they will obviously look better on the TVs they are meant to be shown on (though the picture quality is still more vibrant and colorful on a Blu-ray film when viewed on a high definition television).
If you are referring to watching a DVD on a HDTV and a Blu-ray on a HDTV and still do not see a noticeable difference, then your eyes are deceiving you because there's quite a big difference, especially if you are watching a DVD on a 1080p TV. As Kevin mentioned, a DVD is more compressed because of the small amount of disc size compared to a Blu-ray's disc size, so a DVD on a 1080p HDTV is bound to look WAY worse because of that compression.
[BDo you have vision problem?[/B] There are great difference between DVD and Bluray when it comes to picture and audio, it's especially noticeable when you see animated films like Pixar films.
Excuse me?
Perhaps maybe if I personally owned an HDTV, or have watched a DVD on said HDTV i'd notice the said differences.
