In the early ’90s, Aqua Net-fueled hair metal and disposable pop songs gripped the marketplace. Then came three shaggy dudes whose blistering mix of radio-ready hits and caustic deep cuts blew the dawning decade wide open.
Despite low commercial expectations by the band and its record label, Nevermind became a surprise success in late 1991, largely due to the popularity of its first single, "Smells Like Teen Spirit". By January 1992, it had replaced Michael Jackson's album Dangerous at number one on the Billboard charts. The Recording Industry Association of America has certified the album Diamond (over 10 million copies shipped), and the album has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. Nevermind was responsible for bringing alternative rock to a large mainstream audience, and critics subsequently regarded it as one of the best rock albums of all time.
Still inescapable on the radio , and better than all of today's radio hits combined.
Worlds can't discribe how amazing and legendary this album is. It represents an entire generation's feeling and state of mind. This was the album who basically introduce me to rock. Long live!

I was sad to discover later on that "Come As You Are" was a Killing Joke rip off.
Yet I'll alaways have a soft pot for them in my heart. There's been a time during my teenage angst mess where I would listen to them every single day. I felt so rebellious...
The album isn't as overrated as "[...]Teen Spirit" is and unfortunately many people only know that song from them.
Saying it's far from being their best track is an euphemism, of course
, and better than all of today's radio hits combined.
