this starts with albums, in which I've got 45 of. If an album didn't make the cut, it means I didn't like it, never listened to it, or never finished it. So let's go with 45-41 (5 works for most)
#45:

-Kicking us off is The Game. Before I heard this in full, I had already heard Westside Story, Higher, How We Do, and Dreams. These turned out to be among the best on the album, as it fell short during the final act. I'd say it was dissapointing, but the beginning still rules. Not to mention Hate It Or Love It and Put You On The Game, the new awesomos.
Key Tracks: Westside Story, Higher, How We Do
#44:

-Yes, Ashlee Simpson. Why? No idea. This was of course the feature in ****apalooza IV: The Return. Boyfriend is the stand out track among the album, the universally liked Ashlee Simpson song. There is such a thing. I don't think the rest of the chat liked it as much as I (and Gerry/Steven), but who cares?
Key Tracks: Boyfriend, Beautifully Broken, L.O.V.E., Coming Back For More
#43:

-Good ole Benji told me this album was awesome, and he was right. It lags at the start, not maintaining awesomeness, but once Murda Murda hits .. BOOM! This album takes off. His son is a common issue he raps about (displayed in the albums best song Daddy), as well as the usually things rappers talk about (bitches, bling, violence, hot tubs, Martha Stewart). The catchiness of songs like There It Go and Oh Yes prove for great singles.
Key Tracks: Daddy, There It Go, Mic Check
#42:

-Very low for a Korn album. Korn didn't quite deliver what makes them so great in this one, they took a new turn. It still turned out good, but not as good as it could have been. Twisted Transistor kicks off the album with Korn's catchiest single since Make Me Bad. But without a doubt, the catchiest (and best) song on the album is Coming Undone (2nd single). Korn is definitely not done, not nearly. However, hope the next takes what they have now and pushes it to the next level.
Key Tracks: Coming Undone, Hypocrites, Liar
#41:

-Didn't pay attention to this band until they blew me away at Live 8. I then got this album immediatly and loved it. They only released Dakota here in the states (why wasn't this song huge?), but they also released Superman. Both songs are very good singles, but I guess not enough for the USA. You'll hear their songs in commercials, they're perfect for em. Also, if you like this, check out their Covers album. Their cover of Won't Get Fooled Again is among the best ever.
Key Tracks: Dakota, Superman, Devil
more to come!

Even though you're right, Korn aren't done, and won't be until Greatest Hits Vol. 2 is released, I still believe you don't know what you're talking about, and that SYOTOS will grow on you as it has for many people who didn't like it at first. Why do you seem to only like the songs they've been playing live recently? They're badass, yes, but I don't know. You seem to enjoy the Matrix-helmed tracks, whereas I'd much rather listen to the ones Atticus Ross produced ("Open Up," "Love Song," "Seen It All") because they show that Korn aren't a one-trick pony and can do industrial/goth-rock justice...they're just DIFFERENT and WEIRD for a change.
TALITM was too plain and basic and generic. To tell you the truth, as a Korn fan, I didn't really like it. They seemed forced by the close-minded spectrum of their fanbase to make an "old-school" album that had less effects and more screaming. F‘cking pointless, I wish they took out a lot of those songs and added something that was at least SOMEWHAT unique. I mean, maybe something that wasn't used on Untouchables ("Deep Inside" and "Did My Time" were leftovers from that album, believe it or not.) "Break Some Off," "When Will This End?" and "Play Me" should've never been recorded. "Alive" could've been so much better, and considering it's a remake of the first song they ever made, they shouldn't have f‘cked with it so much. (I wanted to hear "This Broken Soul" remade too, but Munky told some fans that it didn't turn out as they wanted it to in the studio.) That whole album is a mess and the fact that it was rushed doesn't mean ****; Life Is Peachy was complete in less than 2 months, and that's one of their best. Heh, I just hope they don't self-produce any more albums. That's all.

and while I'm still compiling the song list, here's some more albums
#40:
-This is an EP. It is only six songs, which is why it's so low. Had it been a full length, obviously it would have been mich higher. Just based on Hands In The Sky alone, this should've made it, but the rest is great too. I didn't really like Straylight Run before I heard Hands In The Sky. After that, I listened to this song, then their full from last fall, and they became one of my favorite bands of the year. Damn impressive that is.
Key Track: Hands In The Sky (Big Shot)
#39:
-Lyrically, Paul Wall is the best from the H-Town All Stars. His beats and hooks, however, lack from the 1 or 2 or 3 other H-Town rappers on this list. Now that that's out of the way, woooooo. What a year Houston rap had. Mike Jones, Paul Wall, and Slim Thug all broke through into mainstream with Still Tippin and it just got bigger and bigger and bigger. Paul Wall debuted at #1 on the Billboard Album chart. Plus, he now has the #4 song in the country, Grillz. Paul Wall could easily become the biggest star from H-Town over the next year.
Key Tracks: Girl, Sittin Sideways, Drive Slow, Internet Goin Nutz
#38:
-I was not a big fan of this album after first listen. Kroq AAC Day 1 made me give it another listen and I loved it. Funny how that works. They ruled at AAC, playing all the best from the new album, plus older material. They were the best performer besides the big 3. Put that together with an awesome first single (Image Of The Invisible) and video, and you can say Thrice had a great year.
Key Tracks: Image Of The Invisible, Musicbox, Between The End And Where It Lies
#37:
-Another album I would'nt have listened to had it not been for AAC. Benji once again told me how great it was, but I chose not to listen. Good thing I finally did listen to it. They came back with full force and a ridiculously good first single Always Love. If you haven't heard this song, I suggest you do immediatly rather than waste time looking at my lists.
Key Track: Always Love
#36:
-This might be higher if it wasn't for the Cornell debaticle. But we'll save that for another time. This is rock at it's best, minus the pro tools. One of the best guitarists in the industry puts a solo on nearly every track. And we all know, solos rule all. Kermit the frog here!
Key Tracks: Be Yourself, Your Time Has Come, Man or Animal

Yes, indeed, solos rule all.
I'm interested to hear new Thrice, because i've heard that it's really good. But The Game being below Asslee and Korn barely being above Asslee really hurts.
Solid so far and I know it'll get better.

I'm glad you went back and listened to Straylight Run's LP. Easily a 2004 standout...and the 2005 EP was amazing. I hope they keep it up in 06.

MWAHAHAHA! Mike Jones missed the Top 20!
#35-#26 was the best section yet(though LTP is criminally low), but it's nice to see Beck and the Avengers too.
I'm pulling for a System appearance(or two ) in the Top 20.

never stall, only continue
#20:
-System released two albums this year, at 6 months apart. What they should've done is released on GIGANTICA album, and it would've easily made top ten. Mesmerize is the weaker of the albums. Not by much, but it is for some reason. It's hard to describe why it is, as this has BYOB, Cigaro, Lost In Hollywood, and Old School Hollywood Baseball. Well, we'll find out soon enough.
Key Tracks: Cigaro, BYOB
#19:
-And here's part 2. I actually didn't put it here just to be cute, this is where it belongs. There are 18 albums better than it. Hypnotize had the weaker first single, but overall, the album was better. Attack kicks it off perfectly. Throw in Kill Rock and Roll and the madness of Vicinity of Obscenity and you've got a great album. Hopefully SOAD dont take 4 years to put out another one.
Key Tracks: Attack, Kill Rock and Roll
#18:
-Y'all knew it was coming. Just another band that hits big when I start listening to them. This album really was awesome, even if they're on TRL everyday. Popular does not mean bad (or good) as some like to think. I saw FOB at the warped tour this year, and I thought they were great. Not really great enough to go to a show with just them, but great enough.
Key Tracks: Of All The Gin Joints In All The World, Sugar, We're Going Down
#17:
-This album was amazing. But then they had to start splitting up the songs. Cassandra Gemini should have been left as is. There is no excuse for splintering a masterpiece like that.
Best
Half Hour
Song
Ever.
Key Track: Cassandra Gemini
#16:
-Anyone who doubts the power of Oasis should be immediatly shot. No exceptions. That is all.
Key Tracks: Lyla, The Importance of Being Idle, Let There Be Love
ANNNNNNNND WE'LL RETURN SOON
