I know alot of people say that life was much simpler in the 90s or previous years.(Music,tv,culture,,movies,etc). My question is when do you think everything went downhill for today's society, what was the cause?
The dislike of the new generation is something that happens with each new one. Your parents will say your generation screwed it all up. Their parents will say they screwed it all up, and keep tracing back. It's not that it's bad, it's just ever changing and most people hate change. That being said...
I'm gonna say social media and the whole CONSTANT UPDATING OF EVERY LAST DETAIL is the nail in the coffin. I miss the easy going life sometimes, when I wasn't bombarded with updates of everything.

This happens for each decade. "Life was simpler in the 50s", "Life was simpler in the 60s", etc. We've been doing it throughout the entire past century. Part of the reason you think it was simpler might be because you were probably a child then. There are many Western children who have the ultimate privilege of enjoying relatively carefree, innocent, and simple childhoods.

People view and remember the past through rose-colored glasses.
Disney is laughing all the way to the bank this weekend by capitalizing on that '90s nostalgia.
This. We ALWAYS remember the past as better than it was. Every generation says the previous one had it soo much better.
There's pros and cons with every new technological advancement
