Leah Remini may not have been asked back to The Talk, but the former King of Queens actress assures fans that she will be returning to the small screen as soon as possible.
“I am looking for a new home in TV,” Remini tweeted on Tuesday, Sept. 13. “Will let u all know when I get something. Promise.”
CBS shocked viewers by opting not to invite Remini and Talk co-host Holly Robinson Peete back for the show’s second season. Fans have expressed outrage on the social networking site, claiming that the show “just isn’t the same.”
“It shouldn’t be the same,” Remini responded to one follower. “I don’t think they want it to be.”
“Mammas needs a job!” the actress joked, as she spent the majority of the day responding to well wishers from her Twitter account -- many of whom wondered what her next move would be.
“I would share it all with you. Just meetings so far,” she said. “Hoping something great to report soon.”
Wherever Remini’s career lands, another talk show is unlikely. When asked whether she was pursuing a talker of her own, the actress responded: “I don’t think so. That show was like my baby. Not ready for that yet. But, looking at my options.”
Remini also revealed that her former co-hosts, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert and Julie Chen, have failed to reach out to her, while the show itself has neglected to address the casting shakeup. “Only one I have seen and heard from is Holly,” she noted.
A representative for Remini was not immediately available for contact when contacted by The Hollywood Reporter.
Following news of Remini and Peete's exit, CBS announced that Kris Jenner and Molly Shannon would appear as guest hosts, while comedian Sheryl Underwood joins the cast full time.
