Radio would not touch it with a ten-foot pole, and even putting lyrical content aside I don't think the sound is as commercial as Scheisse.

You may be right about the u.s but I guarantee Bloody mary would be Gaga's biggest hit in Europe, it's like another Alejandro.
I don't see anything commercial in Scheisse. It sounds like a remix.
but I guess it all is just a matter of opinion, we'll see what happens if either of the songs are released.

But at least BM would pique the interest of the many teen emo wrist-cutters out there who would think she's cool.

Scheisse is probably the most club-friendly song on the album. If she wants to rejuvenate interest from the club/party song set (plus Rhythmic airplay), that's her best bet. Edit out the long intro for radio, and I think it's fine. When the German chant plays after that, people have already heard the hooks, and then the chant it's just more "arty" Gaga, but in a cool, intriguing way rather than off-putting.

Alejandro's actually catchy and works on pop radio.
The thumping bassline, complex lyrics and sound effects/screaming in Bloody Mary wouldn't see much light of day

What about the english lyrics? "Blonde high heeled feminist enlisting femmes for this express your woman kind fight for you rights" who would want to listen to this?

Everyone forgetting about Government Hooker as next single
She needs to release it at least in Europe..It would smash..GH, Scheiße and MTN as singles..then end the era..or release FOHL

Thats exactly my thought. For people who complain that they want a more fun dance song, Sheisse is the closest song to that on the album.

That crowd doesn't want weird chants and feminist themes.
They want PRA.
They want Just Dance.
They want Dynamite.
They want Tik Tok.
They want Low.
They want S&M.
If you want their interest, do it right or don't bother.

I can actually see Express Yourself-Gate round 2 with this :/
And Beyonce's already been slated for overdoing the female empowerment songs to death...

Women? What would they care about that? It's not like straight guys have ever been Gaga's primary demographic. There are plenty of 20-something women who like to go out to clubs and dance to mindless music who are much more receptive to feminist themes than overt, moody religious references.

nah I'd rather Gaga keep releasing songs like TEOG, You and I, HML, BM and even Judas (with another producer) and never have a top 10 than put out number ones like that

You and I has proven to be a success in the US so far and its not even a club banger. In today's music world I'd consider that a huge achievement

Weird chants/feminist themes are much less of an issue than a moody song that's not club-friendly at all. People at a club care about beats/hooks more than anything, and it's not like the message is off-putting or even un-relatable. I'm not saying it's a slam dunk, but I think it's a much better choice for a single.

How do you know what they want? When was the last time some one had weird fake German chants in their song?

I would much rather have Gaga put out one or two number ones like that, followed by however many songs like TEOG, HML & BM she likes. Balance. Rihanna and her team EXCEL at balance. It's the key to longevity.

I really don't hear the lyrics in Scheiße, nor does anyone I know pay attention.
It sounds great, and I myself have seen the affect it has on a club - it gets everyone moving

I think feminist themes are much more annoying than religion. I would definitely switch the station if I heard a someone asking women to fight for their rights on the radio
but again it's all just a matter of opinion. But I think we can all agree that both songs are not very radio friendly and HML is better anyway

Perhaps im wrong but imo the English lyrics wouldnt be a problem. They dont sound cheesy like the lyrics in hair so i think it would be fine. tbh if she was to flop, i'd prefer it to be with Sheisse than going with the religious route again. At least it has a bigger chance to do well than Bloody Mary
