I have to change the channel or leave the room! And if one of our cats is around I pick it up and pet it to make sure it knows that it is loved dearly

Violence isn't the only form of abuse mind you. Neglect is too. My aunt would keep her kid's dog in this tiny cage literally 24/7 because her kid was afraid of it jumping on him. The thing would sit in its own waste sometimes, but my parents would always tell me to keep my mouth shut.
I told off my cousin though. That fixed it. People shouldn't have pets if they can't maintain them, idk why he even wanted a dog.

Anyone for animal cruelty is sick in the head. This includes the "sport" called "hunting." Call me crazy but I don't think an animal should die, for any reason. (Yes, humans shouldn't die either, so don't even try. This is about animals.) I also think penalties should be much worse than they are now.
I think meat eaters would have a different view if they really saw their food ending up on their plate. Without a face it's a lot easier to make excuses for it. Y'all should check out Food Inc if you want to see the inside of the process.
There must be a farm near where I live, because most of the time on the highway I see chicken trucks on the way to the 'place.' It's such a horrific image to see hundreds of chickens terrified, feathers flying off, looking scared as hell traveling at highway speed and not knowing where they're going. I know where they're going.

I don't agree with your views on hunting, honestly, and I have a reason why that I think you will find interesting.
Even when I was vegetarian, I was always comfortable with hunted meet. From a biological standpoint, human hunting is essential to maintaining a proper, sustainable animal population. Hunters are performing a biological duty we have to mother nature, and not having hunting will only **** up our ecosystem even further. That meat is good for the environment, it's not wasted, it's obtained in a controlled, responsible way where the animal gets to live a full, happy life before it is hunted, and many taxidermists use the extra furs for charities. Not to mention hunters often donate meat as well, a good season can easily end up with a surplus of meat for one family! Hunters For The Hungry is a FANTASTIC example of hunter charity!
Even as someone who has been vegetarian and protests the meat industry regularly, I'd really ask you to rethink the way you look at hunting. Sure, there's jackass drunk guys with guns, but then there's men and women who are very intelligent and know how to hunt by the law that keeps our American ecosystems thriving.
Think about it please. My dad has a Ph.D. in Wildlife Management. I was on your side until he sat me down and explained it all.

I'm sorry, but I'll never, ever, ever condone killing of any animal (including humans). If it's a bad enough concern, then it's time to find a better solution. That's not a solution, in my opinion.

How are we possibly supposed to rework nature though?
Something has to be at the top of the food chain, or a population will grow out of control.
Say deer in Central Texas? If humans didn't hunt deer, they would dominate the ecosystem, and go extinct because they'd grow beyond the food source they have available to them. Not to mention completely demolish all other parts of the ecosystem as they stripped it for food for their increasing herd size.
What possible other solution is there besides natures (which is the process of life and death)?

I hate it when people do **** like that. One of my friend's family had a cat that would spend every moment with me whenever I was up at their place. His mom got the cat and hardly ever paid any attention to it and my friend couldn't do anything because he was allergic to cats and dogs. I hope the cat is still okay.

This is such a hot-button topic.
For the record, I'm against animal cruelty.
However, I can only back that statement up so much, as I do consume animals and animal products :/.
I'm for humanely killing animals for purposes of food. Not for sport though :/, sorry Teqkilla

I didn't say I had a solution, I said that shouldn't be one. I didn't study eco-science so I don't really know that much about how it works in depth. But I do know morally, that can't be an answer. Is there really only one solution possible, with all that scientists know about nature? I find that hard to believe.

We wouldn't have to kill deers and other over populated species if we didn't virtually kill off every one of their predators. My ecology teacher who works with wildlife groups here in Missouri had a week long lecture over this subject. And while he does hunt, he puts blame on humans the most for all the ecosystems in the world to be in disarray.

The stories in this thread are terrifying. It makes me feel sick that people would do such things to animals, who can't even defend themselves.
There was this documentary I watched where this woman who was an animal rights activist went around to the groups that were torturing animals and secretely filmed the groups, to expose them later. Some of the things she got on camera... there were these goats that people were pushing off cliffs and you could see them falling and... you can gether what happened. There were other videos she got, such as guys lighting bull's horns on fire and hearing it scream and they were all laughing at it. Ugh, I feel sick.
This sounds mean, but when people do the bull running event, where the bulls are allowed to run through the streets of a city and rampage, I always hope the bull gets someone. It feels like justice that bulls are attacked for no reason, so when they have the chance to fight back, they do. The other part of the aforementioned documentary though was about how the woman was in the wrong place at the wrong time and got attacked by one of the rampaging bulls in the bull running event and she barely survived. It always happens to the wrong people.

I absolutely can't at Animal Cruelty.
The poor animals don't know what the hell is going on.
I really can't understand how somebody actually could kill an animal or even a human.
Some people are sick...
