The Band Perry's "If I Die Young" this week becomes the fifth country song to top the 3 million mark in digital sales. It's the only one of the five that didn't crack the top 10 on the Hot 100. It peaked at #14. The other country songs to top the 3 million mark are Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" (which peaked at #2), Taylor Swift's "Love Story" (which reached #4) and "You Belong With Me" (which hit #2) and Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats" (which made #8).
one of my fave this year (i know it was released last year).
pity it never made into top 10 itunes. it was close. it'd sell so much more if it got there.
There has to be a record broken for the best selling single that didn't hit top 10. Those are huuuge sales for a country song that didn't smash pop radio.
