Kanye to debut Yeezi during Paris Fashion Week on 10/1
Kanye in Paris:
The rumours are true. The 'will he, won't he' speculation about Kanye West showing a fully-fledged fashion line has been circling the fashion world for months. But now we can finally put a date and time on the rap artist unveiling his first womenswear collection.
The Gold Digga singer will present his catwalk debut at 9.30pm on Saturday October 1, during Paris Fashion Week, in a mystery location yet to be confirmed.
Kanye joins a schedule packed with fashion heavyweights, but you can bet that all eyes will be trained on West's runway debut come the big night.
Expect a front row filled with beautiful girls, eccentrically dressed guys and a smattering of A-list celebrities.

IDK, I think he could do menswear far better than womenswear. But we'll have to see to judge. Hopefully it's good/

I've been hearing about this for ages. Looking forward to it tbh, he's such a creative person and quite surprised he's starting with womanswear.

Watch Rihanna is on the catwalk.
On another note, I wonder if Dereon will premiere a maternity line?

There was a rumor from HolyMoly that she would

Rumour also has it that West has approached Rihanna to have an involvement in the collection. Imagine that, Rihanna wearing clothes made by Kanye West, can the World survive such pretentiousness?

lol, but I didn't how credible they were, and with their name I didn't take it too seriously hah
Carine Roitfeld (former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris)
Quote:
Speaking of new projects, Roitfeld told us she didn’t know anything about the rumored Kanye West show during Paris Fashion Week, but that she would support any move he made in the business wholeheartedly.
“I know very well Kanye and I know he’s very good in fashion,” she said. “He know’s everything about fashion. He could teach fashion. I’m very curious. And I’ll be there — if there’s a show, I will be there, certainly.”
We have no doubt she’ll be in the front row.

He has a lot of support/friends in the fashion world, I'm excited to see who will be showing up.

Official name of the clothing line: Yeezi
Confirmed for Oct. 1st 100%, after the Jean Paul Gaultier show ( "Now Jean Paul Gaultier cologne fill the air" - how perfect lol)
He's been working with different fashion students, mostly Katie Eary though, who's had this to say about him after he surprised her at one of her fashion shows
Quote:
After the show, West (who declined to comment) sauntered backstage to congratulate Eary and told her that he was heading ‘back to the studio.’
‘I’ll be there tomorrow,’ she responded. ‘For the next eight days—we’re going to hammer this out,’ she said before turning to this reporter for a brief, elated interview.
‘I absolutely love working with him,’ the designer said. ‘He’s such a dedicated designer. It’s not what everybody would think—he’s more dedicated than I am. The time and the travel that he puts in is unbelievable. I feel jealous at his commitment.’
Eary said that she has been working with West for the past four months. ‘We bounce ideas off each other, sketch on the same page... we make a really good team. He’s obviously piloting it, and we’re working alongside,’ she said, refusing to name anyone else involved in the project.
How did it feel for her high-profile colleague to turn up at her presentation?
‘It felt incredible. The support is unbelievable. I sort of knew that he might be here, but it means such a lot to me that he came to my off-schedule show.’

And a lot of big sources have been saying that this is pretty spot on, so here's a lowdown of the what the line will look like
Quote:
Kanye West was the surprise FROWer at London Fashion Week, and many a fashion editor tried to get him to talk about the event that has the entire industry a-buzz - the ready-to-wear show for his rumoured fashion collection, which is allegedly now on the schedule for Paris Fashion Week. But Kanye, as the man himself solemnly told us 'doesn't do interviews'.
Well, Grazia Daily was still burning with curiosity. And our curiosity led us to a certain fashion insider who has worked, alongside others, on Kanye's collection, right here in our glorious fashion capital.
Our source, who requested anonymity, in order to avoid being battered to death with a Louis Vuitton steamer trunk, gave us the full, unedited low-down, explaining that the collection was put together in Turnmills, an enormous now-defunct nightclub in London, by a crack team of Central Saint Martin’s fashion graduates under the direction of designers Louise Goldin, and Dean Quinn (both ex-CSM students themselves), and with the likely consultation of Louise Wilson, head of MA Fashion at Central Saint Martin's.
Our insider told us;
‘Kanye was in fairly often; for all the fittings. [He] was very nice and polite and talked knowledgably about shape etc., but was prone to changing his mind a lot - in fact the whole process was slightly excruciating as there were SO many opinions that it took forever to get anything done'. Our source went on to say they would be 'amazed' if the collection is ready in time for Paris Fashion Week, 'and that's quite likely the reason it wasn't shown last week at New York Fashion Week after all'.
Wow! That sounds crazy! Who else was involved in the decision making process?
‘Christine Centenera [of Harper's Bazaar Australia] was around a fair bit too when Kanye was...[which was] ANOTHER opinion’ to take on board. Due to the aforementioned mind-changing, our insider tentatively described the theme of the collection as being;
‘Seemingly based on Samurai, with lots of sporty garments, but in luxury fabrics, with embellishment, embroidery - Japanese stuff - gold chainmail, that sort of sports-luxe thang, and unsurprisingly, lots of hoods, baseball/biker jacket shapes...'
It’ll be ‘all womenswear', and 'will be extraordinarily expensive; some of it is virtually unproduceable'.
Kanye had many specific inspirations: ’He spent a fortune on designer clothes and retro stuff that he brought into the studio - Balenciaga, [Azzedine] Alaia etc'.
His colours included; ‘lots of ivory and gold, although the colours kept changing - probably peach too.'
Oh my. What on EARTH will it look like? We simply can’t wait for this!
