sorry for the delay. Christmas break for me is coming soon, so I then should be able to post this on a daily basis. Until then I will post as much as I can.
Part 2
35.Juelz Santana-What The Game's Been Missing
with his Back Like Cooked Crack mixtapes, Dipset just being everywhere, or being on the current #1 song in america, Juelz has had a big year. his second album is far superior to his debut album with defintely some of the best lines of the year. It also includes some of the best samples this year including Oh Yes(The Marvellettes' Please Mr.Postman) to Daddy(Aerosmith's I Don't Want To Miss A Thing). he's not anything that hip hop hasn't seen before, but it's a very solid record from someone who should be around for awhile.
Best Songs:
1.Mic Check
2.Daddy
3.Clockwork
34.Fort Minor-The Rising Tied
The surprise of 2005.being as i'm not a big fan of Linkin Park at all, I wasn't really looking forward to this. But then I heard the Green Lantern We Major mixtape that Fort Minor had, and it completely won me over. tons of fantastic guests are on the album like Black Thought of the Roots, Common, John Legend, Kenna, and people from Mike's own label who sound really promising. if you don't wanna check this out because you don't like LP then please do. you would be missing out on one of the best hip hop albums of the year.
Best Songs:
1.Right Now feat. Black Thought and Styles of Beyond
2.Back Home feat. Common and Styles of Beyond
3.High Road feat. John Legend
33.Maximo Park-A Certain Trigger
England band's debut album isn't anything new or that we haven't heard before, but it's still a very catchy indie pop album."Graffiti" is the best song on the record with it's great chorus, "I'll do graffiti if you sing to me in french, what are we doing here if romance isn't dead?" If you are fans of that whole british dance rock-ish scene then you'll enjoy them, just don't expect them to change the world.
Best Songs:
1.Graffiti
2.Apply Some Pressure
3.Acrobat
32.Stephen Malkmus-Face The Truth
former Pavement lead singer's third solo album is the best record he's made since Pavement's 1997 album Brighten The Corners.it's also his weirdest since 95's Wowee Zowee, but enough comparisons. this record proves that both Pavement was one of the greatest alternative bands ever, and that Malkmus is a genius.
Best Songs:
1.No More Shoes
2.Pencil Rot
3.It Kills
31.Fiona Apple-Extraordinary Machine
of course by now you all know the entire story of the whole Free Fiona thing with sony shelving her album for it not being commercial, then people doing protests outside of Sony HQ etc.but is the album worth the hype? it sure is, and it's some of the most mature songs she's ever done. Fiona instead of releasing the version she made with producer Jon Brion(though a couple of the versions she did with Brion are still on the album), she finished the rest of the songs with Mike Elizondo who is known for producing beats with Dr.Dre for artists like Eminem, 50 Cent, and the Game. The best female rock album of the year for sure.
Best Songs:
1.O' Sailor
2.Better Version Of Me
3.Extraordinary Machine
thats it for part 2. before I post part 3 i'll be posting the artists who I think will make it big in 2006, for the first of my side lists.
