There has to be a few guitar players around here right ? Which guitar do you own ? How long are you playing ? How well can you play ?

I can't play, but I love guitars. It's one of my biggest regrets not to have learned to play one, or I'd probably be in a rock band by now... maybe.

I've been playing since I was thirteen. I have a few different guitars but my favorite is my blue Ibanez. I named him Brent (after Brent Smith who is my idol and musical inspiration.)
I'm not going to say I play extremely well because I can't. I'm intermediate. I can honestly say that I've gotten a lot better than I was when I started (4 years ago)hehe. I'm self taught and kind of a slow learner, but I'm really determined. I love it and I really want to be great at it. I mostly play pop and alternative rock because I mostly use the guitar to accompany my singing (which is also intermediate/average. But I'm improving. )
haha. And yeah. Oh, also, I cannot play with a pick to save my life. It's really weird. Probably because I learned to play without one and now that I try playing with one, I always drop it or lose control of my strumming or something. D:

I have a Gibsin Les Paul (...and something in the name I cant remember, lol), I'm still learning but I can play a few EASY songs.

Whahahha. Yeah I find it also weird to play with a pick. I've started about a year ago with guitars and I go in group lessons. Once a week about two hours. Something happened in that group so I quit the group lessons and now I'm looking for private lessons. They are more expensive but they are worth it imo.

In the group seccions I learned boring stuff like simple finger picking and solo's. But I really wanted to learn full songs with chords so I learned myself that. I can play two songs right now and those are Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson and Redemption song by Bob Marley. And a couple others but I forgot the names.

You can still learn you know. My father is 51 and he was inspired by me and he is getting private lessons soon.

Cool, which songs are those ? I can play Already gone and Redemption song in full. I started learning about a year ago. I feel like the music school where I was, was holding me back so I'm going to get private lessons soon.

i play my brother's guitar occasionally. **** is hard as hell. i can only play the base chords. to fully mastered guitar will require huge amount of time and patience and at this rate i know im too damn late. my brother had a band and had played alot in many occasion. im so jealous of him and his skill. his guitar was this blue strat he modified himself. and my own dream guitar is gibson les paul custom all white with a killswitch just like the one Buckethead (my #1 guitarist of all time) has

I would like to, but I so do not have the funds to buy a guitar or pay for lessons. And trying to teach myself at this point would be, well, pointless.
