How the heck can Mariah, Kanye, John Legend, Nora and Alicia get more nominations than Kelly? The grammy people are ass-kissers, they just award the veterans anything now and days. People breakthrough and release hit records but they dont friggin care! Kelly deserves more than 2 nominations. she is up against Sheryl Crow AND Fionna Apple, and even though she outsold them. I BET you they will win cause the grammy's love to kiss ass..

I guess for me "snubbed" wouldn't be the word, but I think Kelly Clarkson definitely should've gotten nods for Album of the Year and Record of the Year for SUBG. I hope she is able to win at least one of the grammy's she is nominated for.

In my opinion Kelly deserves at least 5 nominations, i really dont think her album its as good as the kanye or the mimi album, but she had a great year, at least they give her 2 nom

SimpleVanity I was thinking the same thing- that they wouldn't want an AI dominated competition. Even though she has broken out of the AI mold as far as the rest of America is concerned, the Grammy people may feel that way.

I have to say, and I have The Emancipation of Mimi so this isn't hating in any way, but Kelly's album never left the top 20 for over a year. Mimi has fallen below that point and it took a rerelease to bump her back up toward the top. True, her overall sales might be currently higher, but you can't argue with the longevity of Breakaway. I really think that Kelly deserved more nods than Mariah, or at least a more equal amount.

I'm not bitter and this certainly doesn't change anything, but the grammy's have become more irrelevant as the years have gone by. I don't think they TRULY represent the masses of America like they once did! Trevor none of the nominations or awards are based on sales... but Grammys should represent the music that defined the year. As I said earlier, it seems they are doing so less and less...
