Does the same apply for straight actors playing gay characters, though? Nobody seems to address the issue of straight actors not being believable enough in gay roles. Hell, when they do it the critics kiss their asses for it. I think part of watching an actor play his role is doing it with a certain level of suspension of disbelief. You shouldn't be watching a film with the actor's sexual preference in mind. If a gay actor isn't convincing in a hetero role, it's because either that particular role isn't right for him and it's got nothing to do with the character being straight, or if he really does suck at playing straight in general then he's just not that versatile as an actor, period. His orientation has got nothing to do with it. Plenty of straight actors aren't convincing in certain kinds of roles, but in their case the blame is placed only where it belongs— on their abilities.
What point are you making here? I agree with everything
you said and have also already stated these points.
Emma hasn't proved to me she's that good of an actress. She just keeps playing that sorta-funny-but-not-really-anymore awkward ginger since House Bunny. Easy-A was hyped up to be the next Mean Girls and failed miserably. She was fine in The Help.
The queen in the center of the cover, the lessors on the side.
You girls are speaking the truth. People kill me saying that Lindsay was the 'actress of our generation' and the younger version of Jodie Foster, the actress of our generation would be someone like Natalie or Scarlett, Lindsay CAN act don't get me wrong but Hollywood really tried to make her into a star too soon after Mean Girls became a hit and it just felt like overkill to the highest degree possible. Add that in with Lindsay's family problems and her need to fame***** herself out at every chance to keep her name in the headlines and you have a diaster happening, Lindsay did this to her else and she is basically now a parody of herself, she can only do 'photoshoots' and lowrent commericals to keep the bills paid.
Let's not forget about actresses like Zoe Saldana and Rosario Dawson. People like them always seem to be forgotten, even though they have a HUGE amount of talent.

I made a thread about her in the lounge about her being so damn underrated. The thread flopped though!
I can see similarities between her and Lindsay but I don't think there as similar as people are saying. There both amazing actresses and I think people should just leave it at that.
