So sad, just read this on my friend's Facebook.

This has been such a sad summer for hockey. Too many deaths. Lots of former NHL players I remember watching on that plane. Thoughts go out to all the familes and friends to those effected.

You might be thinking of a college football team, which were all killed in a plane crash. They made a movie based on that story, with Matthew Fox in it.

This is so horrible 43 people!

It's definitely happened before. Two soccer teams, Manchester United and Torino, both had tragic air crashes in the '50s. And then there was the Uruguayan rugby team that crashed into the Andes in the '70s, there were some deaths then. I'm sure there are a lot more.

My thoughts go out to all the family, friends, and fans of these players... I can't even imagine how much it hurts to lose so many people like that.
