Leona at an Essex animal rescue home
Quote:
She may have glammed up for the GQ Awards last night, but Leona Lewis opted for her wellies today as she visited the Hopefield Animal Sanctuary in Essex.
The Bleeding Love singer, is who is well known for being a strict vegetarian, spent time with a variety of the animals there, even taking time to feed them.
Wearing black Hunter wellington boots, with a beige quilted jacket and black skinny jeans, Lewis, 26, looked happy and relaxed as she met staff and got harassed by a hungry goat.

The mezzo-soprano singer is a patron of the sanctuary in Brentwood and is supporting them in a long term plan to raise funds that will pay for a refurbishment of the site.
The Sanctuary is a non-profit organisation that cares for around 200 unwanted, mistreated and sick animals.

Lewis was introduced to some of these residents including two white horses called Sam and Hope, and a blind, white rabbit called Raffles.
Hopefield cares for a variety of animals including donkeys, sheep, pigs and chickens so when it came to feeding time, staff at the sanctuary were more than happy to let Lewis lend a helping hand.
The singer is also a supporter of the World Society for the Protection of Animals and has hit headlines in the past due to her animal rights beliefs when in 2008 it was reported that Lewis had turned down a $1 million deal with Mohamed Al Fayed to open a Harrods sale.
Lewis stated she had turned down the deal on the grounds that Harrods is the only UK department store which continues to stock clothing made from animal fur.
She told The Big Issue: 'I got a lot of flak for that. There were people who said I should have done it and given the money to charity, but that would have been such a contradiction.'
