Depends. Antz has 95% on RT, and I don't think it's really anything special. There's always going to be an element of subjectivity.

I liked Antz but it's definitely not great. But I was only citing RT b/c you've used it in the past, in the Julia vs Julia case of Pretty Woman vs My Best Friend's Wedding.

You can't compare TLK to Antz though. They both got great reviews, but only one of them was not only massive but withstood the test of time. Type in "Lion King 3D" in the Twitter search box and look at all the tweets. This movie touched a lot of people who are now in their 20s, and they still remember it as a huge part of their childhood. Antz is a non-factor.

Yes, I know, but it's not like there haven't been plenty of other Disney films (or animated films in general) that got better reviews than TLK.

I guess my issue is I think the movie gets way too bogged down with the sidekick humor. I don't find Timon & Pumbaa endearing, though I realize plenty of people do.

You are. You wouldn't have stanned so hard for Black Swan or The Help had they not had critical acclaim and surprise commercial success. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's something I've definitely taken notice of.

I saw Black Swan at a Wrap screening before it hit theatres and starting raving about here and on Twitter that same night...so that was well before the commercial success. It's very reminiscent of Rosemary's Baby, one of my favorites.

The Help is one of the most entertaining books of the last few years, plus I love Emma Stone. So I always wanted to like it. I enjoy strong Southern women movies like Steel Magonlias and Fried Green Tomatoes.

I'd never seen Adele on TV before the VMAs. She had major critical and commercial success before 10 days ago, no? She stood out among all those girls making fools of themselves (Gaga certainly wasn't the only one). She still needs to lose about 40-50 lbs.

I still stan for Taylor occasionally, both here and on Twitter. She's a talented girl. When I first saw her Love Story video I thought she was so radiant and belonged on film. That was before Valentine's Day.

The week of BTW's 1M opening + smash UK debut, I remember you coming back and calling the album a masterpiece. Certainly if I thought BTW was a masterpiece, I would stan for Gaga full force . I've never changed my mind about the album. It was a B- to me the night of its Farmville debut (before the critics weighed & the sales came in), and it's still a B- to me now. But we're all swayed by charts and reviews to some extent. I'm not denying that I am - just not in those examples you gave.

I started stanning for Adele before she smashed the charts, I knew it was going to happen. I didn't expect it in the US, but in the UK it was obvious. I've always liked Rihanna, but I also like to mock her because she makes it so easy. She makes good music, but it's not enough for me to "stan" for her. I was generally quite supportive of her until she worked with Eminem, that's when I started shading her continuously. That was the biggest hit of 2010 in the UK, didn't effect my opinion.

I still like the album, my problem is more with her. I don't see the point in making an experimental album only to release the safest singles, hence failing to showcase the concept behind it all. As strong as the album is, it's not as good as TFM.

I also said her #s were going to be extremely front-loaded. I wasn't impressed by the one million opening, especially seeing as she did it with a Katy/Rihanna stunt.
