Irene barely missed Florida, we got tons of rain on the Thursday of the week it started moving up North and then hitting them.. we haven't gotten an actual one to hit us in 2005 and hopefully it stays that way.
I've been through Charley (Level 4), Ivan, Dennis, and Wilma (all Level 3), and I believe a tropical storm or tropical depression or something like that.. they're not fun.
Before Irene, a hurricane hadn't made landfall in the US since 2008.
